  3. Have you tried anything for your quit? If so, what? By the way, I think you can quit without resolving any underlying issues. Alot of people here suffer from anxiety or other issues and they have quit.
  4. My Fish Friend! Congratulations on your four years of freedom! :) :)
  5. At the Miami airport and I was amazed to see a smoking lounge inside a TGIF Fridays in a sort of inside/outside patio. Never knew there was one at the MIA.. Lots of people smoking and drinking in the haze. I stood there looking at them for a moment. Noone looks particularly healthy I must say and there are lots of older people in there too. Don't miss the nicodemon making me feel trapped and irritable.

  9. Welcome! I think that smoking adds to anxiety and depression. Really when you smoke, you are just relieving the withdraw from nicotine. One you quit, after awhile, these urges go away and you will not feel the urge, the anxiety to smoke. After you succeed at quitting you will be very proud of yourself! May I suggest getting some exercise and I personally meditate to help with anxiety. There are a lot of videos on youtube that can help. Try not to overthink the quit. Just think, Not One Puff Ever. NOPE. No matter what you need to do, do not put a cigarette in your mouth and light it on fire.

  16. Sneaky craves. During the first year or so, at times the craves may be stronger than at other times. For example, maybe these are change of season craves. You may be doing things as a nonsmoker for the first time now that it is warmer, such as going to the beach or whatever. The longer you don't smoke, the more normal it becomes in your daily habits and the craves go away permanently.
  17. So happy for the new quitters! NOPE

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
