  5. Well, I ate a huge amount of sugar free candles in the beginning. Sugar free lemon drops, caramels and others. I replaced my ash tray on the coffee table at home with a big bowl of candy and at work I had everyone addicted. I bought in bulk on Amazon.

  11. The struggle is real. I was surprised that I quit after 30 years of a pack a day because I struggle with compulsive eating and I always give in. What is different about quitting smoking is that it is all or nothing, no more smoking, never take another puff. The choice is so clear. So when I was craving all I had to do was manage not to smoke. And unlike dieting, the pay off was immediate. I could feel my lungs clear; I did not cough at night; my sense of touch come back, and after three weeks I could taste and smell everything.

  14. Way not wait until you feel ready. For some, it is a week, for others months. I did the patches for four months and then stoped. I did the whole step down program. I am not sure if this is the way to go but it was what I did.

  17. Quitting is an emotional roller coaster for some for awhile. Every time you resist smoking, or do something without smoking that you used to do, you get stronger and weaken the Nicodemon just a little bit more.

  23. This forum is for people who want to quit and who have quit. Is this you? Yes. So it may help you to come by and post, read, play the games, etc. I read that people who have a support group increase their odds of staying quit by 50% or something.
