  1. I agree. I started smoking my father's cigarettes when I was 15. Smoked a pack a day until seven months ago where at 50 years old I passed out in my kitchen for the second time and ended up in the cardio wing of the ER. Luckily, I did not have a heart attack but that was it for me as far as smoking. While I wish I would have quit at 20 or 30 or 45, I quit now. I did something I never thought I would actually do. I am so glad.

  3. Lifted weights in my home gym/office/cat room and then walked fast outside. Pushed THREE shopping carts from my townhouse community back to the drugstore on the corner. II think an elderly man in my neighborhood brings them in with his shopping . :(

  8. Beacon is a spoiled tuxedo kitty found by a smoker outside her work one day.
  9. Today I was at a workshop and the speaker was droning on and on. The guy next to me was squirming. At the break, he told me he needed to smoke. I told him I quit 7 months ago after 30 years of smoking and how glad I was. He of course ran away screaming but I was happy to be quit. I sat and ate some grapes and talked to friends. Later I noticed this guy was wheezing and I remembered how people would ask me why I was so out of breath.

  12. Donna, it is different I think. It the beginning I was grouchy and irritable because of the craves. Plus I think my current moodiness has to do with my age, 50, and my hormones! :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
