  1. What I ate instead of smoking: Sugar free lemon drops, jolly ranchers, carmel candies, coffee candies, cinnamon disks, gum. Orange tea, orange crystal lite, diet crush soda. Pudding. Popcorn. Pistachio nuts. I kept a big bowl of sugar free candy on my coffee table where I used to place my ash tray. Scented candles.
  2. This is great. I admire all of the creativity I see here on the train. The above is another example :)
  3. I ate some today too! Plus some big cherries. And I have been eating peaches, plums, raspberries, blueberries, grapes, cantaloupe, strawberries and honey dew. :0 And veggie shish kabobs broiled with salt and olive oil And avocados which are ripe and on the ground here free
  4. I used the patch. I still had to work at my quit alot by reading and posting here and other places and exercise and keeping busy and eating and laughing, etc. :) you can see what will work for you. Just start and take it day by day is my suggestion. Perhaps get a ticker too and write down why you want to quit and how it feels the first few days. I was just looking at what I wrote down the other day.,
  5. I know. I like the Intruders so far
  6. Plus their body parts rot and fall off.
  7. I like the idea of building a shield
  8. Hi everyone! I am so happy you have quit and you are here! :) how are you? Eating any good candy to cope?
  9. I was wondering if you were ok! I am glad to see yes!
  10. Sometimes it comes and there are harder times with craves. I had issues at six months and at 11 months. Not sure why. I spent some time recently thinking about the invention of a harmless cigarette. You know there is no relief out there for you in a cigarette. iIf you smoked you would not get a feeling of relief because you are no longer addicted. Instead I imagine it would taste bad and you would feel the crashing of nine months of dedication come to an end. You would feel sad and dirty. We are tested. We can overcome. Some days, some weeks we grind it out, embrace the suck. Other times we breeze through. Are you maintaining your quit? Are you reading, exercising, deep breathing? Have you watched the below lately? Have you started your running program? Is there a class at a local community college like painting or cooking or yoga? Bootcamp? Church? Dogs and cats shelter? http://youtu.be/5dbvckNVbK4

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
