  1. Yabadabadoo! Yey! I am super happy for you Holly! You have earned this freedom my friend!
  2. Not sure what is going on with you and sorry about the terrible week. Today I was driving home from work and the lady in the car in front of my was smoking. I thought about having a smoke , and tbat she gets to smoke, why not me, yadda yadda yadda. But I thougt really, what would smoking add. Would I feel better? No. Would it help to solve my problem? No. Would it help me? No. So what does it add? Nothing except misery. So, logically, no need to smoke.
  3. Hi, how are you? Post a hello here. This site has a bunch of good, seasoned people from all over the world who can help you. We like animals too,
  4. Not sure about no man's land but I have had periods of cravings that came after long periods of no cravings. There was a period right after six months when it was tough because I wanted very badly to be a" social smoker." Now by reading here and knowing about the concept of No Man's Land, I knew that cravings come and go, and if I embraced the suck, the period would pass. Lately, Thank God, I have been free.
  5. Bassman, This is commitment, making a choice and then sticking to it. When I first quit, each day was a recommitment, a pledge. Even now when I think about smoking, I tell myself, not today. And your message of the joy an reward is on target for me. :)
  6. I wish I could find better tasting tomatoes. South of me there are still some fields growing veggies and strawberries where I can buy but that is in the winter. Store tomatoes suck. Even fancy stores. However, down here now the avocados and mangos are ripe and are everywhere .
  7. That's some good healthy living
  8. Sarah, good riddance to two nasty, unhealthy habits. Hello future, unlimited, shiny, whatever you want. Freedom.
  9. Sarge, do you work as a full time farmer? Or is this for fun?

  16. Sarge, do you raise your own live stock or have a fish pond?
  17. The possibilities are endless
  18. On and off over the last year the urge to smoke returned for a visit. Each time the visit was different. In the beginning months, it was relentless. At midpoint, sneaky, a liar. At 11 months, surprising. Now, wistful, romancing, nostalgic,, easily recognized and dismissed as baloney thinking. Give yourself time, work through it. Be strong.
  19. I think tomorrow if all goes well
  20. May I suggest that you come here, hang out , focus on your quit, commit each day so it is in the front over your mind for a while. I committed to one year. Don't let yourself drift from your commitment, get busy with other things, so that you end up smoking again without much thought. ?
  21. Mr. Wiley, my shark and bat friend! Happy eight months! You are doing super! :) :) :)
  22. Sarah, congratulations! :) :) :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
