  2. I used to steal my father's Pall Malls when I was 13 and smoke them in front of the mirror so I could be with the cool kids.
  3. Laura, fresh new year, new choices. You mention you chose to smoke. It is a choice to smoke again. Imagine if you said that you were going on vacation and you were going to get through it even though the craves were bad because the next time you went, you would not crave . Each nonsmoking experience trains your mind for the next time you do the same. ....anyway, if you throw the cigs away and quit again you will be a nonsmoker again, just like that. But don't put it off because you are retraing yourself to see smoking as normal.

  12. Jackie, are you quit now? If not, stop again. Using an nrt or not. My friend, I know you have it in you, I know you want it. Back in the saddle. We will help you
  13. Rooster, I remember in the beginning all of a sudden I felt like there was extra space in my lungs and that I could breathe in deep without coughing like a maniac.
  14. On the cruise I just took there was a smoking section and bar by the pool. I noticed that the older smokers sounded terrible! They were coughing so much with such stuff in their lungs. Plus they looked unhealthy with grey skin. Yuck.

  19. 15 months in after 35 years of a pack a day. I really have no more craves. I do not want to smoke. Ever. Even in the car, even when I am drinking. Never. Not even a thought. I was reading at the other place about someone who relapsed after a long term quit. He mentioned that his first cig was everything he desired but the ones after the first made him ill. I thought about that first cig and my mind rebelled. It was not that I thought about it and then had a small desire and then dismissed the thought with a NOPE. Instead I thought how dumb and disgusting it would be for me to start again and that I didn't even want to anyway. This change happened about two months ago. Amazing. How do you feel now at your stage?
  20. Oooooo! My shark friend! 11 :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
