  2. CPK, how true! When I notice nonsmokers in their first year having pain, struggling, even prickly, I always understand.

  5. When I joined the boards, and became friends or known to others, the commitment to quitting grew. So many times I have thought about how it would feel to smoke and then have to admit it here, or disappear and have you wonder. I hate when people relapse here especially people I feel connected to.
  6. Nope
  7. Thanks CPK. Nice
  8. I knew about statistics when I quit smoking but I would think, this is not me. I will be in the percent that can quit the first time out. Why bother relapsing if I had to quit again. If people can hold on I Swear the urge goes away. I

  15. Gemma, Happy Birthday! :)
  16. CPK, there is no need to apologize. A quit is a journey. I went through a huge mourning period where all I thought about was being a social smoker. I was bery careful not to drink too much for the first several months because of this
  17. NOPE
  18. My mind has a voice that some times whispers that I can smoke one or two as a social smoker, when I drink, on vacation. Same voice who thinks I can buy some sweets and have a small amount and not eat the whole bag. I have been trying to kill this voice all my life. Nothing but trouble.
  19. For me there were wobbles throughout the first year. As time went by although sometimes the desire was there I willed myself not to give in . What a shame to through away all of that time I would say. I would imagine my good health going into reverse, the good color fading, senses dulling, my teeth yellowing, coughing again. And for what? What good thing, what one good thing does smoking do? I have never found that one good thing. Because after physical withdraw even the cigarette that I relapsed with would not be good, would not be the relief that I was thinking it would give me. Instead I imagine my heart sinking as I would smoke, the pride I had in quitting going away, feeling like I failed .

  22. Rob. I need to see you here as a nonsmoker . Did you through the cigs out already? No more smoking with other smokers. Lessons learned. I am an addict. I can never smoke again, ever, not one, or that would be it.
  23. Honey 1 more day and you are 1 month free. I will celebrate with you on the lido deck soon. You remain strong.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
