  10. Jess, it's not unusual to feel some thoughts at this stage. This may sound too simple but I swear I started to chew sugar free gum at some point. The gum chewing helped with the stress I had and gave me a little crutch when needed. I still have some in my car and at work.

  15. I think at four months or so I was the raging maniac imagining conspiracies at work. I think also this was the time I let myself start eating anything I wanted at any time. I think it is that you really get tired of the thoughts and fighting and fighting. I have seen other people fold at 3-4 months. But i see the ones who hold on and there is a time of relief soon coming, a joyful one. Now are you getting good things to help like a massage or something you want to buy or eat or do because you quit smoking ?
  16. I was thinking about the first few months of my quit and how I posted on the boards quite alot. I posted about dizziness, stomach aches, craves and anger and and clear lungs and weight gain and feelings of sheer joy . The first month, the first drink, the first vacation, the first taste, the first drs appointment,. Each of these were special, unique, important to me, my experience. The old phartes commented, comforted, celebrated, and laughed . What I didn't know at the time was that 1000+ nonsmokers before me had posted very similar comments at very same time frame during their own quits. Yet these were their own unique experiences. The old phartes helped in very similar ways. Tthere is a pattern , a standard journey of the quit that we all follow, experiencing the same thing as we journey. This means we can rely on the nonsmokers on the path ahead who tell us how it will be if we continue to travel. True release. True freedom. This is what they are telling us and we can believe it is true.

  22. Sandy, Now when I go to the drs I don't have that worry in my mind that finally my smoking has caught up to me.
  23. Cig smoke smells good to me still. :( i like to observe the people smoking. Many times they look unhealthy or they look young and I feel sad. However, noone looks like they are having an extra good time. Instead they ate just smoking.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
