  1. I have read that the change of seasons during the first year can cause cravings because of the newness to doing things as a nonsmoker. Ie the first picnic, the first sitting out on the porch on a warm night, the first vacation. Certainly the first vacation I took was a challenge but by the second I was much stronger. That is why the first year is important to remain aware I think and to come here and other stop smoking sites to get reinforcement

  14. I ate my share on sugar free lemon drops and caramels in the beginning. I had put away all of my ash trays so I kept a big bowl of candy on my coffee table. Even today I keep gum in my car. The car still to this day is the place I thinkg about smoking so I eat gum.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
