Dr. Phil?????????

I wonder where dear Markus is? How is his quit? I want to be babs and Nancy and MDQuitter, here supporting Newbs like me, celebrating my 3 yrs quit, yet never forgetting how close an addict is to a relapse and letting this community serve as my reminder. All whilst helping myself remain vigilant. Thank you to those of you on the lido deck and beyond for staying to help us newbies.

Welcome Evelyn! Congratulations on your decision to quit. You got this. Each day pledge NOPE and take it one day at a time.

Welcome Pearlie and congrats! Look forward to counting up to your year of freedom!!!

NOPE. Monday's aren't made for smoking.

Taste, smell and breathing. So nice to be able to run up the stairs in my house and not be winded. Better breathing and less congestion have been great quit keepers for me.

I'm flying out today for work! First time since this quit started. Gonna be so nice not to have to worry about squeezing in smoke time. It'll be just me and my beer and not a worry in the world.

Has Anyone Ever Had Problems Breathing After Quitting?
robrr44 replied to Feely's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
Love the attitude feely! Hope you start feeling better. As someone else said, if in doubt see your doctor. Great work with your quit! Keep it up! -
Was at the mall, just minding my business, walking around, window shopping and just plain enjoying the day. Then it hit me. An enormous crave! Bummed a cigarette from someone and then remembered this board and all the great advice. Put the cig in my pocket and said to myself, wait at least three minutes and if the crave isn't gone smoke it. Bumped into an old friend, talked for 10 minutes. Crave gone. Cig in trash. Whew! That was close. Now re-read the above and know it was a dream I had last night. STRANGE!!! But hey, even my subconscious is strong in the quit!!! I remember my last quit I would smoke in my dreams and then wake up relieved it was just a dream. But in hindsight it told me that my full mind was not onboard. Think this may be a great mental turning point!!! NOPE on everyone!!!

Way to go Feely!!! Cherish and remember each little victory. Because they aren't little or insubstantial. They are HUGE!!! And you did it! YOU did it. Keep up the good fight Feely! You are doing amazing!

Get some gum, get some candy, get some chocolates! Anything but smoking. No smoking!!! You got this Feely! Remember, you feel this way because you smoked, not because you quit.

I committ to a year. My last quit failed at 7 months because of what GeaceLove mentioned. Complacency. Got too comfortable last quit, like, "I got this!" One puff later and I was DONE! WELL NOT THIS TIME NICOTINE!!! I got smarter and stronger from that last quit. This one sticks. I want to be here to support and be supported. NOPE!!!

Hey Feely!!! Glad you found this site and decided to join to help you in your quit. Be strong during these early days...just let the nicotine work its way out of your system. It only takes 3 days. Then you are free of that beast. I'm only at 9 days but I feel incredible since going cold turkey. I can tell the nicotine is gone and just remind myself...any future desires to smoke are simply psychological, not physical. The nicodemon is gone but tries to fool me that its back. NOPE has been a helpful pledge for me every morning. It's my first post of the day as soon as I wake up. We got this Feely! We're here with you!
