  1. I don't know what you're referring to. We always play by the rules! :P :P :P
  2. :) And, yes, I smoked for about the back half of my time training. I don't know how, but I used to get out of an absolutely exhausting class, and light up a smoke. It defied logic, but, that's addiction. qigong is awesome too! I've looked into it. I used to have a neighbour who would practice out in his yard every morning, rain, snow, shine. :) He was probably the most peaceful, relaxed and happiest person I've ever met! I'm so glad you're doing it!

  4. Excellent! :D Each day will get easier and easier. Keep reading/posting here. Refer back to your reasons often, and know that you can absolutely do this! Keep moving forward one step, one minute, one hour, one day at a time and before you know it smoking will be a very vague distant memory. The new life you've embarked on, will be so much sweeter! :) You've got this!
  5. It's so great to find this kind of common experience, Jackie. :D I felt like I was the only one who ever felt like that, and now I see that's not the case at all. Strength in numbers! :D I'm super proud of us too!!! Not only are we doing this - we're enjoying it! Who'd have thought??? The urges, are just temporary - the quit is permanent! And whenever I feel like I want one, I just think of how good I feel physically and mentally now, versus how bad I felt smoking. I don't want to go back to that. It's been one positive after another after quitting, and I don't want to lose those. Turns out feeling good is addictive! :D So, we've got this!!!
  6. Hope you feel better soon! It's allergy season for sure. I'm been popping the allergy pills like clockwork. Take care of you!
  7. That is SO cool Doreen! :D And ballet is some of the toughest training around! WOW!
  8. I was a martial artist for much of my life. I started training young. My main style is shotokan karate. But I've also trained in goju ryu style, jiu jitsu, kickboxing and even tai chi. Due to a couple of brutal injuries, I had to stop intense training. But it's still a passion of mine. All is right in my world when I'm in the dojo (basically karate gym/training hall). Fun Fact: My first career choice was ninja. Let's just say it didn't go over too well with the parents. LOL
  9. ^^^Hahaha! Perfect! Way to go chicks!!
  10. 00 EXCELLENT! :D
  11. His voice just always gives me shivers.
  12. Haha! I think you mean...
  13. Funny you should say that...because I think the official rules say something about the sticks having to use just that to play from now on... :P
  14. For what it's worth I like your music! :) I love discovering new stuff. My musical tastes are pretty far ranging. Sugarcubes, NIN, classical, Egyptian bellydance, reggae...and so on and so on LOL
  15. Jacqueline, those are beautiful reasons! You can absolutely do this and we're here for you!! I have a feeling you are going to knock this quit right out of the park. Looking forward to getting to know you!! :)
  16. You've got this Parsley!! It's all going to be ok - just keep going. Bitch, rage, cry, scream, swear. It's all good! :) My first few days were awful!! I hid in bed, ate tangerines, read everything here over and over and cursed that I ever started smoking. I thought I would feel that horrible, miserable and in a constant state of wanting a smoke forever. But, guess what? That passed! Within a few days, it got better. It wasn't perfect, but better!! And from that moment, it just kept getting better. This is tough, and it feels horrid, but it's just for a little tiny bit in the scheme of things. Think of how long you smoked for, right? This is a short, short, short, intense, but short, transition into something so much better. Just stick with it for a little bit longer. You will start to feel a tiny bit of relief and then a little more and more still. I'm barely over a month, and now, I have the odd smoking thought - not even a craving - and it passes really fast. You'll be amazed how fast you start to feel better. Distract yourself. I went out with a friend on the weekend. We were out for hours and not once did I think of smoking! A month ago, I never thought that would EVER happen. I would go out with friends, and within an hour, in the back of my head, I'd be looking for a break in the conversation so I could excuse myself to go smoke. But not this past weekend! :) Stick with it. Surprise yourself. You'll be so so glad you did. Think of all the positives coming your way. Do whatever you need to do to not smoke. Because the sooner you get through this short stage, the better you are going to feel. If you go back to smoking, you'll have to do this stage again. And that just makes the suffering last longer. If you hang on just a bit longer, you'll be out the other side, and it will get easier. Every day you don't smoke, it gets easier. Sending you big HUGS!! You've got this!!!!! :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
