  1. What both of you are referring to can also be achieved with a Dammit Doll! Check them out online :)
  2. I'm going to share my experience with something that happened recently. I haven't heard of it happening to anyone else but maybe it's because it was never correctly identified. As smokers many of us developed esophagitis, GERD and the issues with the parts of our bodies that were constantly under attack from smoke. A few weeks ago I was having all day cravings almost every single day and it was driving me crazy. I was going to quit smoking forums and posting like crazy just to keep occupied enough to forget the cravings for a bit. A doctor friend asked me if I had esophagitis and I told him I did and he told me that the feeling I'm having in my chest (sort of that "just swallowed too big of a bite of peanut butter sandwich stuck-in-the-middle-of-my-chest feeling that a craving also feels like) is what esophagitis flare ups feel like and that smoking masks the feeling but that you also mistaken it for wanting to smoke and "smoked the feeling away". After a couple weeks it settled down. Right now I still feel it a little, I may have to go get this fixed (easy outpatient surgery) because craving for more than a few minutes sucks but when it feels like all day long it's torture.
  3. Uh-uh, NOPE squared.
  4. Hells to the NOPE!
  5. I'm hot on your tail, watch out, only 7 more months to go.... :P Congratulations, that's a big milestone you have there!!
  6. NOPE! I'm with Nancy, taco Tuesday sounds awesome!!!
  7. Oh wow I love this place already! The prudes and holier-than-thou's at the Q would have reported this thread SO many times by now. Yea, you are definitely my type of people!!
  8. So I just joined up here after getting a horrible taste in my mouth from the "new Q", BLAH! I used to be on the "old Q" and liked it a lot more than the new format. I suspect I'm not the only refugee here. It doesn't seem like this forum is as active as the Q is but I figure I'll give it a shot and see how things go. Anyway, I quit back in October, nearly 5 months quit now. I've lost a couple three year and a one year quit and am feeling like this is the one forever. I'm kind of a no-nonsense Army vet who tends to speak his mind, I'll try not to ruffle too many feathers

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
