  2. PT smoking today. Almost four weeks!!!!!
  3. NOPE! Went to the gym yesterday for the second time since my quit. It is going to be a long slog, but I can already feel my lungs healing!
  4. NOPE! And I mean NOT ONE!
  5. NOPE! My lungs are cleaning out today. I'm going to give 'em a chance!
  6. Glad to still be here! My gosh, this morning, I can taste cigarettes as my lungs are cleaning out. Gross!
  7. Day TEN today! I made it to the gym yesterday for the first time since I relapsed almost three months ago. Not an impressive workout, but it's a start! Cravings still show up (like now), but I am A STRONG WOMAN, and I am not going back to that Demon stick!
  8. NOPE! NOPE!
  9. Not one puff ever. It's true: just one puff away from a pack and a half a day. I won't let that happen!
  10. NOPE, keeping my quit today!
  11. NOPE NOPE NOPE! Even if the blinds installer shows up once again without all the parts. Even if the fence installation guy cancels and reschedules again. Even if hubby arrives late for the dog agility class. I'm drinking water and enjoying my cough drops. 'Cuz tomorrow I want to go to the gym. NOPE!
  12. Thanks for watching out for me!
  13. Hey Doreen, I am still smoke-free! Doing a lot of Sudoku and reading the NYT cover-to-cover when I have idle time!
  14. Not one puff ever! Whatever it takes!

  17. Not one puff every. Will be smoke-free today.
  18. Thanks for the support. Made it through the evening with by going to a movie with my hubby and munching on a giant tub of popcorn (light on the butter). Going to a garden show today with a friend. Hubby wants to make dinner in, but I might need to go to a movie again tonight......
  19. Doreen and Reciprocity, Hey Day one has been going pretty well. Thanks for checking up on me! Luckily, a new desk arrived last night, and I milked the task of organizing it and purging for hours. LOL! Starting to get some stronger urges now. As I mentioned, after 5 is the witching hour. I CAN be smoke free!
  20. Thanks for all the support! Yes, I think sleeping earlier is good, because my craving apparently come more often and with more severity in the evening. I agree with you Nancy that I need to be tired when I go to bed, or the demons will visit. and Joe, I remember sleeping in A LOT during my other quit to put off those morning coffee and a cig urges. Things I got from this thread: -Melatonin ( will pick it up today) -bedtime tea -hot tub ( or in my case we have a steam room!) - relaxing music (no more Abba on Pandora!) - sex AND wine! - exercise in the AM -caffeine only in the AM -I think I will also insist that supper is no later than 7:00. Thanks again! You will probably see me popping in and out a lot over the next month!
  21. Hello, After several years smoke-free, I started up again while visiting smoking relatives for the holidays. I quickly moved back up to a pack plus per day. I just got a prescription for Chantix and set a quit day for this Saturday. I've been monitoring my triggers, and I noticed that I smoke most of my cigarettes after 5pm. (I'm retired so I can have a smoke whenever I want, although always outside.) I normally go to bed around midnight. I need to get to bed earlier, at least for now! But that won't help if I'm not tired. Have any of you used anything homeopathic or OTC to help you sleep earlier? Any suggestions on this or other matters would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
