  1. Wow, that sounds like a pants dentist, no recommedations? This website seems to list a lot of the potentials for allergic reactions, maybe use it to compare and find a toothpaste that doesn't have these? http://allergysymptomsx.com/toothpaste-allergy.php Unless you tried that already?
  2. Hi again I'm 6 months, wouldn't ever pick up a cigarette again. I don't know about your friend, maybe she needs some support?? I wouldn't be able to live like that and I don't. This is what happens to me... I get in the car and think, oh I used to smoke here...but I don't smoke now.. and I start the car and drive off. It's literally a fleeting thought. Week one and two I could have pulled off the car door handle! TOTALLY different types of thought. The only way out is through, but you can really help yourself by reading up. The more knowledge and reasons you have for not wanting to smoke (ie health, financial, fear any reason at all) the easier it will be to mentally bat those thoughts away. Hope that helps you to know and maybe tell your friend about this site or to find one that works for her as wow, that sounds tough. x
  3. Ouch! can't the doc give you something for them, or maybe over the counter at the pharmacy?
  4. I'm reading all of these thinking oh yeah, that too lol. And we didn't add in the side effects from chantix that I used too. I still get the frog in the throat thing too, even 6 months on, after testing to rule out nasties I've been told it may take a year and it's my lungs clearing out, yuk, but again, totally my fault! I sat and thought on it last night, it seems a lot to go through but it was kinda mostly one at a time and 6 months on I really am not that phased at all. A lot of things scared me at the beginning, my worst fear was weight gain, rather then side effects and I put on some pounds and shifted them again, and then put them on again haha. Not in the least bothered, yet thought I would be. I hope your toungue and you heal quickly Wendy :)
  5. Mornin' NOPE for me too.
  6. Really pleased for you. I know you've kept the journey real and I want to say thank you because your journey made mine more believable. Massive congrats to you on 7 months free of nicotine. Absolutely delighted for you. Hope all is well for you and calmer for now. xx
  7. Brilliant work Tom!! Massive congrats on your 2 month climb. I bet the kids are proud, so are we, great job. xx
  8. Day to day I wear hugo boss - woman. Smells inoffensive and casual. I'm using ghost as my go out perfume as I haven't found a favourite since quitting. The one that has been my fave since I was 14 I near killed myself over spraying and I don't like the smell that much lol. Will watch this thread with interest as I need a new love :)
  9. Awww, I'm even more pleased you quit now. You're so lovely, be a shame to wrinkle you all up with being a horrid smoker. x
  10. Hey Jules, have you joined the pledge post where we post NOPE, or pre responded to your SOS? Or come chat nonsense in the social threads, have youa plan for the zombie apocolypse or not?? Which will only make sense when you get there lol. Hope today is a better day. x
  11. Hey, how's day 8 going?? x
  12. Which herbal tea ya got? Tea is always great :)
  13. Aw sweetie, that's so much, I'm sorry you have to go through so much. Smoking never made it better tho my lovely, it's just another set of problems. Hold tight and distract yourself, sleep, watch a program, sing a song really loud. xx
  14. Doll, hope you're gonna save me...I'm rolling with a deflated balloon dog from the party...which I thought had lasted quite well until it became a weapon?? I have a Mickey mouse flask the other side..that'll sort it :)
  15. Massive congrats Julie. Hope all's well with you and fabulous quit. x
  16. great news. Massive congrats on your two weeks. x
  17. Working hard at work there my friend ;) Made me chuckle, I'm just jealous, i miss work!
  18. Great pics Paul, I'm pretty hungry now!! Ava, total babe!! :)
  19. Lol Bakon :) Was it Nancy who posted eons ago about how to breath properly? Sure I remember something somewhere?
  20. Oh wow, I forgot the nose bleeds! Laughed at the enough to feed an entire village part, yep :)
  21. nope.
  22. When I first started out I went on fitness tv here and recorded loads of them, most got dismissed as super fit, no life ego maniacs lol. A couple were really great, why not you tube some. I ended up favouring Mandy Ingbar (she trains jennifer anniston and she looks hot) but she says ass a lot and is a little on the "oh look at my lovely body and this is how I get this tight ass" yada yada. However the moves are actually do able and you don't have to be a gymnast! For the breathing and stuff I actually favour pilates. You'd think yoga wouldn't you, and for sure there is some, but pilates always seems to be what I call mindful breathing, they tell me exactly where and when to do it, I like that :) I favour the "do more pilates" series with Niece and Bea somebody's or other. There are samples on youtube for sure as that's how I found them. Calm and realistic! I don't neccersarily include any meditation with my exercise, I keep them seperate. I do like the breathing properly tho and I'm sure pilates has increased my strength and lung capacity. I prefer the yoga combined with toning exercises as otherwise I just feel like I'm about to fall over all the time lol. 4 months in I do have the basic moves mastered. Be careful to follow instructions even if it takes longer to get it. x
  23. My skin itched, my face and neck felt like they were on fire sometimes. I chose to think on it as the healing starting on the inside and pushing every impurity out of my body :) Small price to pay but sure was frustrating at the time.
  24. Awww Gem, I am super chuffed for you, youwere pretty sad to be going back this time I remember. Christmas is much better with frost :) Looks more realistic ya know!! x
  25. Ooooohhhh, I'm so excited to do halloween where they actually do it!! Here is so lame. All the penny pinching grumps with their Meh attitude! When I ran the pub, we did a massive event and were literally mobbed with parents trying to do something with their kids. My girls are gonna be minions and I don't know what we're doing but it's gonna be AWESOME....and breath :) So, lovin the decs DD. Those carve ya own pumpkins are great, real pumpkins are so tough and go off so quickly. Mouldy pumpkins every year :( Do your kids not get scared by the decs? My pansy kid wouldn't let me put up the severed feet and hands last year :( Can't wait to see it all done. You are very cool my friend! xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
