  1. Yule on 21st December Christmas Eve, burnt the pizza and had to rush out for dinner At the local Theatre for our traditional christmas Eve Panto visit - Aladdin this year. Christmas Morning breakfast of chocolate orange! Shattered but had a fantastic time. Looking forward to seeing others photos. x
  2. We start Christmas Eve as this is my favourite part :) So nice munchies in the morning and late lunch of Pizza (kids favourite), then off to the Panto to see Alladdin at 5.30 where we stuff sweets and chocs and then bounce off the ceiling shouting oh yes he did, oh no he didn't etc etc. Tomorrow I have the children till 3pm, my Dad, stepmum and Grandma are coming to me for the first year ever (as no mum anymore). I'm excited to share it with my Dad. Then drop the kids to their Dad at 3pm and off to work until 9pm as a waitress. Planned work last week as the team will be snowed and one more will help. Plus the money is nice at double time, all good. Was due an Aussie girlfriend over for Christmas Day night (we work together) but she's pretty sick at the moment so don't know. No plans for boxing day or new years eve yet, will see how I feel (could work, probably won't lol). Enjoy whatever you do guys.
  3. The easiest and hardest thing - true words. Life is about choices. x
  4. Yule blessings to you all. I for one will be happy to see the days become longer again after this 3 day standstill stint. x

  5. Perfect choice. Love her to the moon and back. x
  6. What's bigfoots name now?? Lady J, I think we would have an absolute blast together, we have the same warped humour and unlike Bakon, she seems to half understand me :) x
  7. Chrispy, not cause he can see the puppies (that was a one time drunken moment and we wouldn't drink together buddy) but because I would love to sit and chat with someone I could swear so freely with. Our conversation would be x rated for swearing reasons but sooo much fun! Plus secretly, I think he's pretty cool.
  8. I love this thread! I can only do one at a time. Mum (Nancy). I was at a chronically low ebb, more then anyone knew and with one kind line, she lifted me back up. Plus I know we both like wine, food and good company so we are already a brilliant mother daughter combo.
  9. Without a shadow of a doubt it was my kittens as an 11 year old child. There was a rule in my house where you ate what was in your stocking for breakfast, normally some fruit and some chocolate...well this year was a tin of cat food and I was outraged that I wasn't eating that. Then went downstairs and a kitten walked into the lounge, then another...I just hugged them and cried. Tom and Jerry, loved those guys so much :) Might buy my kids kittens next year ya know....
  10. I do worry some if I'm honest. I smoked from such a young age (11) to when I was 38, ending on 40 a day. I was always a heavy smoker, even as a teen smoking 15-20 per day. I used to worry about waiting for the axe to fall, now I don't - I live for now and do the best I can whilst living. I can't always clear my throat and already got tested for some stuff at 41...just stopping when I did will certainly help. Stopping when you did after 8 years is amazing and I'm delighted your quit is sticking. These fears coming up are part of the process we all go through I think, it should stop us going backwards if we can keep the realisation that smoking was damaging us! Somehow we seem to be able to ignore that when we smoke? Weird, I like this real place better. x
  11. Sarah?
  12. Aww I remember thinking that too. Now I think thank goodness I'm past all of that or I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, just plod, this foot that foot, and it comes.
  13. Smoking never fixed a damn thing, we wish! Go beat someone up. Pillow punch but don't smoke cause that don't fix nothing. x
  14. I am more a sparkly silver pair. I make daddy buy them :) My actual Daddy, this is not a metaphor lol. Other then that I'm a chav shopper in the budget shops lol. I idolise your wife now!

  16. 29,518 in. For my beloved Uncle who would've sorted us all out love him but never got the chance. For my Mum and her COPD, no matter how far. For Beth and a guy I never spoke to who inspired me To smokers I fear for now and all who you guys have lost.
  17. I've had a beer and "coughs" a wine or two... marginal confusion has occured at "objectively funny".... I am incredibly droll normally....
  18. How do America honour commemorate this day? Genuine question. We in England use the Poppy which I believe originates from the poem In Flanders Field, where nothing but poppies grew after the terrible fighting in WW1. Money raised by The British Legion from the sale of the poppies goes to help our vets. Just interested how our across the pond people do it.
  19. Lest we forget, at 11.11.11 we honour them They shall not grow old As we that are left grow old Age shall not weary them Nor the years condemn At the going down of the sun And in the morning We will remember them Lest we forget

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
