  1. Awful! Terribly sobering and guilt inducing. Never again, no matter what!

  3. Scary nope. X
  4. I didn't know"how" to quit, I had no plans for if I craved a cig. So I craved in fear of forever feeling that I needed to smoke to feel ok. I was the devoted smoker who didn't stop for illness or pregnancy. My addiction to cigarettes was woven all through everything I did from waking to sleeping. In the end I just had to jump and trust people here who told me it would be alright. I used champix but I am fully aware it was a way to cope now. At the time though I believed in it and it gave me somewhere to start so I am grateful to it. So desperately sad that I just kept waiting for so long for my family to quit with me. Turns out I led the way as they are almost all quit now. So fear and a lack of understanding about the nature of those craved easing quite quickly if you chose to not smoke and stuck to it.
  5. Awww sweetie this is the tough bit, the rinse and repeat of quitting. It will pass, just nicodemon trying to catch you out. Don't listen and do what you're doing. X

  9. Been awake hours, so excited, holiday today...the point of all this to start with. Florida I'm a coming!! NOPE!!
  10. I'm touch and go on this point. For myself, def not! I wouldn't smoke a cigar anyway but I am very committed to all I do, a few puffs once caught me out for another 14 years so NOPE for me. My other half quit 7 months ago and has smoked 2 cigars. He was fine and doesn't look to have any issues yet... So I think you know your own personality best but it's a no for me personally.

  19. Jac, My beauty. What is doing this to you, may we extend our middle finger in salute of the nonsense. Jokes aside, be strong chica. No matter what we are non smokers. In the face of adversity, we are non smokers...those smokes simply cannot have us!! I am counting on you now chicky!! Sometimes really do suck donkey "bits" don't they. But ya know, smokers can't blog and get amusing friends :) Love you lady, hope it gets better. xx
  20. Sadly I concur. Smile politely and think wt, well I wouldnt have listened. However I back up Crispy's thoughts. I have said to people, I remember wondering if I could ever quit before I did. Or, if you ever wanna chat about quitting I can point you in some helpful directions. Hard isn't it :(
  21. First up on quit zits, do you have witch hazel. One of those old natural remedies and a dab morning and evening on the worst of them sucks the juice right out of them over a few days - grim but true :D . Water, yes. Mineral based make up, you may find your usual make up aggravates your skin for a couple of months. Bit more water! Re the feelings. Yeah, I remember posting about this and someone saying oh no mans land. Quite common but still sucks balls. I do want you to know that despite these feelings and an SOS actually around this time ( I did struggle bad) today, I am all good. So keep that in your mind. This time is a step by step. No over-thinking, no false moves, still be protecting that quit. I think it feels bad because in reality, the thoughts are coming far less often - which makes them feel really intense - but actually it's the same thoughts you were having every 20 minutes day 1-3!! Perspective is pretty crucial so try and keep your wits about you. I think you are doing so amazing!! Normal folks don't realize but I/we do, you are still fighting hard at times and we are proud of you!! I love that you posted..for you, for sure but also for others who are reading and wondering!! Please, please keep us in the loop so we can hold your hand when it feels harder and then we celebrate when it feels good. BB xx
  22. Hey Sally, fabulous effort my friend. Love you and your beautiful ways to pieces and so pleased you are here with us. Delighted for your 1 year smobriety, massive congrats to you. xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
