  1. Candle lit, prayers and strength sent. So sorry you guys are going through this ((Doreen and Tony))
  2. Ok Following you lead then. I am most definitely a woman A wine drinker on the whole but can be led to the dark side (rum, brandy, whiskey) Mother of two amazing gift daughters (I couldn't have children) Slave/daughter of her crankiness (mother) Partnered with Chris who I firmly believe is part of my soul group I swear like a navvy One near death experience in child birth. Two year stint in the territorial army, where I was rubbish and they called me provate benjamin but I do love to shoot! Ecclectic religion choices based on my life experience. Mysterious to most unless you read this quit smoking site :) My passion is to help and heal and later, I want to teach how I do it. My sport of choice is formula 1 grand prix. Hamilton and Button of course...and mclaren.
  3. Clean something. Switch from foot to foot saying nope in your head. Cut a straw in half and suck air through it. x
  4. I use my kindle to download the free books and then if I like an author I order the series or whatever at the library...so I guess it's not much different to that? Although the library is pretty cheap so maybe down to costs?
  5. Bat's new pet and 14lbs in a stone.
  6. Fabulous to hear from you Amber. And of a healthy baby boy, congrats!! What's his name? Pleased you're well. x
  7. I shoulda been a bridesmaid, could of got matching broomsticks :) I hear the undertones Jac, stay close to the board now won't you...I know you're busy and I'm super excited for you but stay with us lady! Watching you in a loving way xx
  8. The scenery used to move in the background lol. Yikes, that is yonks old. Is newsroom a good series then? I'm looking for a new series to stream.
  9. I am in the year of the fit!! I seem to be collecting chins and boobs this year and I would really like the correct amount! I'm 5ft 3 1/2"...I do not agree with docs assessment of weight should be 9stone, doesn't suit me and steals my curves - but would like to be back to 9 1/2 stone as a realistic goal. Currently just under 11stone. Got to be in it to win it right :) Stu - I have utterly no doubts on you!! Sarge, running you say. Is the couch to 5k a sensible place to start or did you follow a better plan (existing or own) that worked well? How did you as much as possible avoid injury and how many times a week did you run?
  10. Yeah, mornings were a tough nut to crack for me too. Like the others, I switched my routine around as I used to sit and smoke 5 or so waiting for the kids to get up! I found if I did something straight away (mine is dishwasher and anti bacterial the work surfaces) then I could go and sit with my tea after reading qt without too many thoughts. Could you switch things around in the morning?? What could you be your new thing??
  11. Deep breath and a smile...no seriously, that's what I did. Even if that smile was forced and a mental nope. For worse ones I'd switch from foot to foot like a loon saying nope. I also started writing more lists, so at the xyz I would look at the list or write one to re focus myself straight away. Double win that was as I forgot loads before lol. I want to add Wendy, my house is cleaner then it's ever been. I was never a scuzzy ho but some things waited longer then they should have...all that extra time gradually devoted to bits of deeper cleaning mean it looks fab most of the time now. So it's very possible :) However, early doors, being attached to the QT and reading is really beneficial, far more so then getting a clean house...that can come later once your quit feels sure to you..it will happen naturally if you run with it and just take a day at a time and then it'll be odd to get that xyz thoughts at all. xx
  12. Great work DF, massive congrats on 5 months of freedom. xx
  13. Great going Tiger!! Epic win my friend. Massive congrats on 8 months free on both counts. xx
  14. NOPE 9 more sleeps peoples!!!
  15. Snap with Mr Marti and I.... I buried the switch under some gifts that he can't really be bothered to move for now so blinking white.... VICTORY!!
  16. Aw Nat, you poor love, I can almost hear the pain coming through. None of us are let down by your quit, we are sad for you that you are struggling. You need to use nope as your mental martial arts move when you want to smoke. Crave hits, NOPE - karate chop it in it's tracks. You KNOW you can do it, stop letting your addicted brain tell your rational brain it needs to smoke... And so many hugs cause I really feel for you. ((((Nat)))) xx
  17. 45 mins Zumba on Monday 20 mins yoga today on tuesday
  18. Happy to take some slack wendy..no smoking for you my friend :)
  19. Hey Blackstorm, great to meet you. I'm pleased you've found a stepping stone that works for you!! A quit is a very individual thing and I know quite a few people who used an e cig, and two that vaped. The vapers seemed more organised in reducing and getting off of nicotine eventually then the e cig'ers. Is your ideal to get nicotine free in the end? Can we maybe help that plan some? Either way, welcome in and looking forward to hearing from you. x
  20. I'm supposed to hide the pickle.... what sort of game are you suggesting Joe.... I don't think we do that sort of thing in blighty...
  21. lmfao. Stu's far to jovial for a rocker hahaha.
  22. Ok, I hope this doesn't rock the boat then... I have stayed happily attached to the board, your question is do others feel this board triggers them...for me no I don't. I feel like I was triggered anyway and the board was support. My fella quit a week after me... He said not thinking about it worked better for him and got pretty agro at me when I would "over discuss it". He has slipped (his words) a couple of times and apparently smoking a cigar is ok if it's a celebration?! My Mum, brutally ill, health concerns aplenty, linked to smoking (copd, heart failure etc). Quit 4 months after me. Thinks forums are for needy people or some such crud, still smokes when she's stressed...and or creates sceanrios to be stressed to smoke. This is nearly daily, but apparently where she used to smoke 60 a day, ow only smoking one or two is fabulous?! From these 3 quits, and only these...I would say the triggers are there no matter what you do, albeit less frequently after the initial quit period of say maybe 2/3 weeks - and the forum can help to stop you smoking. This is my opinion. If yours differs and you're happy with your own then it's all good isn't it. That sounds a bit sarcastic, I truly don't mean it too...it's just you asked what others thought and that's honestly what I think. That said I'm really pleased that you are happy and I was only wondering a couple of days ago how you were...pleased it's well. xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
