Nearly done now then :)

You are very tired, you will go to sleep...... Why say it in a boring one liner when you can prattle on for days :)

Great Job Action. Hope all is well. x

That sounds amazing!! Good on you. x

Already took my kids to Disneyland which I'd been attempting for literally years (should add two quitters money, not just me). Signed both kids up now to regular outlay for potential life saving activities (miss 9 martial arts and miss 5 swimming lessons). I could never have afforded regular outlay with smoking too. May take a holiday somewhere cheap and european this year, and I can do that if I want :) Booked taking my masters in reiki and investing in a business of my own for holistic healing. Next up for a couple of years is buying a house (saving deposit), Canada holiday, Camp in France with the kids are all on the saving agenda. When kids are older, trip with the Bakons for my Chris to motorbike ride, trip to borneo rainforest, Peru for the inca ruins, back to mexico to do more mayan ruins, handgliding somewhere, monaco grand prix....so much :) The point is if you really embrace the good of not smoking, especially financial, it can easily knock a trigger out of the ball park because no way would I want to give up those plans, no matter how big my addiction was!! Once you taste the freedom, you have more incentive to hold on. So I really advocate treating yourself!!
-
Jess, At the risk of sounding overbearing I am so bloody proud of you my friend!! Lovin your treats, do it, well earnt chick. Much love and the BIGGEST CONGRATS for half a year! xx

Smoking takes away your freedom, your choices of where to go, how healthy you are, your finances and so much more. We deserve more than these nicotine companies offer us, we no longer buy into their LIES! Wedo not believe that you must reintroduce nicotine at regular intervals, quite the opposite! Once you stop the real freedom can begin to grow... We choose NOPE to that!! Just for today. Smoking is not on the table today...do something nice for yourself instead!!

I don't know if I can recover? Off to search out shoes, shoes always help!

Bottoms up darling!!

So I'm strangely innocent in limited ways... So Mammy, I googled too... OH MY GODS Urban dictionary helps me be "down with the kids" (ie not antique) and then this happened... DUCK BUTTER: The combination of sweat from the ballsac and anus that creates a buttery film on the grundle and butthole. occuring usually from an unwashed scrotum creating a smelly odor that worsens in thickness and odor by the minute. Also known as DB or Deeb. Bobby rubbed his deeb all over his roommates pillows. I have some killa DB today! Ewwwww. Traumatised! You will find me in a bottle of vino collapso pulling the same face as when someone explained teabagging....

Eye of the tiger!! I love this, so so brave too!! Embrace the opportunity was always my thinking. It's a whole new you, this one will be stronger and healthier :) x

You know people are here to help support others quit, timelines don't matter. I worry that you think because you think of smoking you're quit is doomed to the depths of smoking sooner or later. I think, that's your previous quits talking and your inner junkie and addicted nature is really playing on, "hey we'll just do it again". But Gabby, why bother, you are already quit. You arejust dealing with errant thoughts and not anything more. YOU are giving those thoughts power rather than questioning them because for some weird reason, you think it might be better/easier (unsure of motivator to be honest) to just smoke. But you're a non smoker...so smoking isn't on the table anymore. There are some eureka moments in a quit for sure, but there's a whole lot of plodding that no one really speaks to much of. I had these thoughts from time to time. My buddy had these thoughts from time to time. The only difference I can see is together we made a choice to NOPE no matter what. So the thoughts took less power because no matter how strong or convincing the lie was, we'd promised we would march past it. Couple of weeks ago I found a packet of cigs with a lighter in the car I share with my mum. I honestly thought better take that back in the house before I go in case I'm tempted..like what the hell was that?! But it happened. So I dealt with it and moved on with my day, a few curses but nowt serious. No big deal - unless I choose to make it a big deal and that's my point. Of course we have associations to smoking, we smoked for years! I tend to ramble but my point is you get to choose. I think you could do worse then tell yourself it's done, let yourself feel grumpy about that if that's what happens. We often miss the sheer addiction part of this addiction. Pleased to hear you're plodding through. For my part can I suggest like others say a bit more chatting on the board time and start acknowledging some good bits the quit has brought you. Unexpected benefits, financial gains, whatever comes to mind. Lastly a quit for financial reasons is not to be sneezed at your side of the world. NZ and Aus have gone big on pricing smoking out of the market. Those friends of yours who were "having a lovely time" are mostly not as happy go lucky as you see and they're probably skint for the rest of this month too! Remember how that side of the fence felt, yes you could repress it at times but that niggling "I should be quit, I want to quit, why am Ismoking, I can't afford this, I'm going without on so many levels to sustain this".... you remember all of those right?? Sending strength and love chick, it's tough at times but I believe in you and how wonderful this quit will feel when you let it sink in. xx

Loved reading this :) Great job and pleased we all get some sunshine.

Delighted to see you here with such a great choice. Quite probably the best choice to make is to do something good and healthful for ourselves. Be gentle with yourself, post often (I for one love to share the journey) and get some plans in place for triggers. Welcome!
-
LOVE!!! This is amazing and along the way you've inspired others to follow in your footsteps, bet it all feels pretty freakin great :) xx

Double digits chicky!! Check you out. Some days are great, some are pants and that's just life my beauty. Will start lining up a spot on the lido deck where we can vent and drink cocktails together, I don't doubt you'll be there before you know it. Much love and strength being sent. xx -
It's crazy how they can carry on, how we can knowing they have it! If that isn't solid proof of it being an addiction then nothing else can show it. Pleased you have all your folks smoke free Doreen. x

Positive attracts positive. You are what you think.
-
nope
-
My heart breaks for you at times, sending love and strength. Not at all what we intended just because we're led to believe FALSELY that quitting is tough - that's a lie - it's tougher to live the alternative. x
-
Yay Ricki!! This is a real achievement, a massive miletone. HUGE CONGRATS!! x
-
Happy Easter to those that are celebrating :) Nope. x
