  1. Action, think of the cleaning you're saving yourself, hate cleaning toilets! Wish list for a beautiful new dress for the wedding I'm going to at the end of this month :)
  2. Found Kisstory (music, dance classics) on the tv radio channels!! Dancing like a loon all alone! Boom!!
  3. 11 monthsis brilliant, massive congrats Colleen!! Way to keep the quit and inspire others too as well. xx
  4. Ok, because I love you and you've been good to me, let me answer you. You have kids right. I look at my Mum, my smoking Mum and think wow you selfish bi*ch, you have COPD and you continue to smoke. All your kids smoked and you continued to smoke, what a really utterly awful example! I mean totally, reprehensible parent! I had to give up all my life plans to look after you, will you quit then,no cause "it's really hard"?? That is what I think of my Mum in honesty. Don't even get me started on what I think of myself and the example I have copied to my own children. When is "enough" Soozie? You messaged and asked me how I was, that's how I am every day and it's not even my choice. You owe your family and these friends this example. You are strong enough, you always were. There is always time for an SOS, there is time to save yourself from what I see day in day out. Why would you not think you are worth saving. I truly care about your quit, you need to really care too. xx
  5. I'm sorry to read this. I have enjoyed your writing, always. However, each of us must live the life we've chosen and if your path is away after 6 years, then I will consider myself lucky to have read your wisdom before you go. Enjoy your life Markus, genuinely best wishes for your future and fingers crossed for your wife finding your strength one day soon. x
  6. Really pleased to hear a happy medical story for you. Big relief I'm sure. Excellent effort
  7. If you wouldn't mind can you keep me posted. He says all major joints ache, but one knee is really painful quite often. It's been going on the whole 6 weeks he's quit. Nothing before. Thought he was overdoing it or maybe getting arthritis due to his job.
  8. Brilliant news and something good!! Massive congrats on your 6 months and bypassing so many triggers on your journey, awesome! x
  9. Not posting but reading and lurking :) Massive congrats on your 1 month MHK, doing brilliantly!! :good: xx
  10. none for me, nope.
  11. I love the fact your job can help you get to that place of escape, that sounds like a healthy win. And wow at the sitting out with a coffee, that's a good one to get past at a nice time of year :) Lucky you that you don't mind buying the next size up, I'm over here in rainy england with my meh attitude to exercise trying to get motivated more than twice lol.
  12. Fitting into your clothes I cannot help with, alas my bottom half hath expanded :( Do you get fitness tv in canada, I'm doing chav workouts off that if it helps any in the vain hopes I will be skinny and waif like soon! How does it feel to be back at work with all those triggers though. Hope all is well.
  13. two lots of brilliant news TAC, what a weight off. fabulous!! xx
  14. Crazy how we always respond the same. Did you at least remember food this time? I worried about you being hungry when I started reading this after last time lol.
  15. PS, Can you get epsom salts to put in the bath, hillarious I make them and forgot to suggest, oops. epsom salts mixed with some lush smelling aromatherapy type oil is amazing for relaxing muscle complaints and it does genuinely help. Massage is also good for muscle aches, maybe time for a treat?
  16. Not my experience Aine but you have me wondering. My man has been complaining of additional aches and pains since quitting but I put it down to his job as it's physical (mobile mechanic). Thought he may be giving things a little more oomph, but you are office based aren't you? So no actual advice as such but this long on, may it be worth a check up now? No googling medical conditions though, it's almost always terminal! Whether you get advice or don't, hope you feel better really soon. x
  17. Not gonna lie Nancy, not sure I would count that as a win after fancying pizza lol :)
  18. I wish, like you, I had of understood this last year. When I tried to quit in July and then October, every time ending up with a different smoking criteria. The pats on the back for going a day, or having 10 a day, or whatever were crazy - I was smoking! I shake my head now, if I just had of held on and trusted that the world would not have this many reformed smokers if this were impossible. Great message Jonny, thanks and re-inforces my thought process which is handy as that's where I am in this quit now.
  19. Nice to know our wonderful NHS doctors are amazing and sympathetic the country over! Divs, way to inspire people to keep their quit :( But ok, you have your quit intact and I'm sorry yougot a lung infection, that sucks. How did it come about, did he actually give any useful info on that? Rest, antibiotics and you should be back on your feet with the most excellent circulation getting to them now you are a non smoker :) ((jackie)). x
  20. Exactly that Ladybug, your only rule - do not put something in your mouth and set it on fire - anything else is possible!
  21. oooo, so exciting!! Wow at the move home news too, that's fairly big news. You found a venue you like already then or looking round them at the weekend?
  22. oh I just meant you had already put your date :) You're doing fab. Wonder if any of the others will add their names?
  23. I nod to your simple, not easy. I once described it as the hardest and easiest thing I'd ever done, I meant that and it's kinda in agreement with what you say. It did get easier. Then it got a bit easier again. Then the bat sh.. moments were rare and really noticable because there weren't many the same anymore. Then a kinda low level hum. That's my experience if it helps to know. It does move forward. It made me think the simplicity of the message is probably the only reason I could follow it. I am so pleased how well you are doing. It may not feel like it but your friend is right in one way. Millions of smokers DON'T ever get as far as you have Sarah, millions! You are steadfast and resolute about your quit as you have to be. You may have just motivated a friend to consider her quit, that's massive news!! Think on that, if one person saw you do it and it inspired them, how fab would that be! You're doing great. Not every moment feels great but some do, it's a journey. xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
