  1. Hell nope. Sitting in a roomthat stinks of stale smoke now, awful! Never again for either of us Tracey. x
  2. 14
  3. Hey Laura, just coming out the other side of this. It feels really meh, I don't know what to do here anymore and it's all old news I quit, but meh, what to do now... My advice. Just keep doing what you're doing and one day, apparently we come out the other side and realize we haven't thought about smoking for a day. Then longer then a day and all will be fabulous lol. Hugs Laura, this is us doing it. xx
  4. For today NOPE As I go to visit my newly admitted mother that I care for into hospital, the stress will not take me. As she and my sister heard the words smoking related heart and liver damage, on top of copd and she can still lie to herself and smoke, I still hold fast to NOPE Watching it and living it are harder than you would think!! Much harder than a few thoughts a day. Stick with nope, that stuff will kill you!
  5. Agree bandito, better and more passionate playing this time - no converting that to goals. Kinda like watching puppies play lol. Maybe euros they will have it together? Liverpool won, for sure, money...isn't it always. Gonna enjoy the tournament without the stressing now.
  6. he's been pants :( dont even know how he's got a place. not crossing for anything and that's his only purpose really.
  7. Short and sweet, if we're voting :) Seen your driveway, you need that extra time for gardening! That's a big driveway.
  8. 9 months is awesome, 3/4s of a year :) Congrats to you. x
  9. Fabulous five!! Massive congrats to you. x
  10. Congrats Jackie. 5 months is a quit to be proud of. xx
  11. Hey Gabby, You are doing fabulous. Sorry I haven't been around so much. Maybe some different perspective for the questions. Moody - Well yes. It transpires most people are actually REALLY annoying, more so now then as a smoker who could walk away. This part doesn't last like this though hun, you end up more mediocre in the acceptance realm :) It's ok though, we are allowed to change who we are a bit. That other person was a nicotine addict, we don't want to be that person anymore! Early days (I'd say for another week or so for you) it kinda feels like everyone is stepping on your nerve endings. You feel very raw, emotional, under prepared and in a nutshell - it really, really sucks!! This part of the quit is a process. Try to remember that. You are facing down the initial stages of a whole BETTER life plan. Similar I think to starting a work role you're not quite qualified enough for and blagged your way in lol. You do it, you become better at being a non smoker and periodically you still like people. I'm so pleased you're posting though Gabby, THIS is the difference as El Bandito says, with so many quits I felt alone, now I never do. There absolutely is power in having people who understand. More than that they all want to help us and encourage us forward. That's pretty amazing. You are doing great. Every step, no matter how small, every stand, teaches our craves we will not let them win and makes our quit stronger!! xx
  12. nope, pledged and will not smoke today.
  13. It's tough late on, I think we get angry they dare still come! pleased you had someone who understood and could help you to safety. Secure quit or not, nice to have a supportive buddy here or in real life. All I can offer back is my way of thinking. If I smoked for 23 years (with a year off?!), it's going to take longer than a few months to reset my brain to a never smoking set. Also I am unsure of you but I have have never been a non smoking adult (apart from that year, sigh) so I don't think that helps either. What we have to do is find so many new ways to cope/manage and deal with life. So Wiley, 5 months means you have fought all of that, and yesterday, you are doing amazing!! I mean that, genuinely amazing work at re setting your own brain which is trying to catch you out. xx
  14. Sounds beautiful Doreen. Pleased you're enjoying it. x
  15. 10 mins yoga, 20 minute ab and bums workout It utterly cracks me up writing on this thread. Some guys are running miles and I'm just leaping around my lounge while the little ones at nursery haha. Is there a more lightweights thread?
  16. thinking of you both. Waiting around doesn't make you feel better about things. Hugs. xx

  18. Nope for me and standing strong with those struggling to beat it!! ((quittrain gang)). x
  19. You don't like stand up comedians?? What, any of them?? I'm not sure I should partake in this list though, lol, I have a whole wealth of dislikes. Jostling crowds People with expectations that are not reasonable Selfish or whingy people. Snails and slugs in my garden, or anything that wiggles if I'm not prepared with gloves Talking rubbish for the sake of talking Judgements and judgemental people That there is so much dust in my house, where does it come from?! If the kids try and help me hang the washing, it's my ocd thing Failure Standing on a stone barefoot Most vegetables :( And of course for sure smoking! the smell, the after smell, the health and wealth toll and the breath and energy ittakes, the damage it does.
  20. Have no doubt you sent it packing chick. ((Tracey)) stay strong my lovely, you so don't want that life again. xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
