    Much better.

Aww Babe, some bits of the quit just plain suck and others feel like you;re surfing a wave. When it feels tough just remember "this too shall pass", I try and think it if I feel really great, to ensure I enjoy the moment and also when things feel plain awful, so I know it will go. Exercise, shhhhh, but it's not as bad as it sounds!! I know right, dead weird but it's ok :) Do you have fitness tv channels? I just recorded some yoga and toning type programs and engage in 20 mins here and there. And upped my walking. Would consider the gym thing but visions of having to take the kids and them pegging it round like nutters rule it out lol. Do be greatful though and mindful of yourself and what you need. This is an amazing gift you are giving yourself and it's alright to take it one step at a time. xx
  2. Petra you made it to 1 year, that's fantastic!!! I am really happy for you, this celebration was fought for at times and you've completely owned it. Hope you have something special planned. Massive congrats. xx
  3. Those are positively the worst dreams! They can be very realistic and it's not a nice feeling. I'm glad you "woke up" in so many ways. The post makes a lot of sense and I'm glad you are free of the connection to smoking helping, that's a big part of understanding so thanks for sharing, it helped me this morning.
  4. I'll stand with you Mr ELB the winner and non smoker! NOPE.

  6. I hope you find a solution that works for you :) I hope the sea was fabulous! x
  7. Gabby!! This is fabulous darling, doing so well :) I am genuinely ridiculously excited for you lol. How you feeling now?? xx
  8. Old cigarettes gone, emergency donation to a friend to burn immediately. Weirded me out that a guy that quit 2 days before me has relapsed?!

I am not them, for sure! My quit will be secure, I will make sure of it...but really, people can let go at this stage?! It's alarming!

I'm glad you got rid of the cigs, not that I think you will go back to smoking Marti. Just helps when there are none there so no matter what 'mind screw' comes over folk..no cigs means no problem.

Exactly what I thought. Do not want to encourage any junkie thoughts to have my head space. x

  9. 15 minute power walk (wondered round shops, collected a child, my own - it's ok) and 25 minute walk home again.

  11. BOOM!! Good work my lovely. All ya gotta do is not smoke, you can literally do ANYTHING else that you like!! I have faith that you want this, you absolutely CAN keep going, it's always a choice - hint, choose nope (not one puff ever, just for today) and keep running with that. The days stack up and do their thing while you just concentrate on taking smoking off the table for today. xx
  12. Of course there's a possibility we're both nutters and not energy workers ;) I hope not, I quit within 4 days of a full moon, with crystals and intention work - seems to be working, touch wood! Cry-vings - how true! It's got much calmer now I think, only really kicks in when people get on my nerves now so it does get easier. Meditation is wonderful but can take some time to settle to it, and there's no right or wrong. Try and keep at it though as it honestly is so worthwhile. Babs also meditates I have seen :) xx
  13. Standing strong beside you, NOPE!!
  14. Just being fabulous for 9 months and inspiring others en route! Congrats MQ. x
  15. Hi Susana, I read your post and wondered if it would be ok to offer some thoughts. I hope so, we have some similar traits I think and maybe something will resonate with you :) Quit date by 15th via the moon. I'm assuming you refer to the full moon on sat 12th and the strength from that being 3 days, thus taking you up to the 15th? It's a capricorn moon and I see your taurus, so it's in an earth sign like you are and should flow nicely. However the energy lends itself 3-5 days either way, so if you feel ready, you would still be within the energy of this influence :) I get some people think it nonsense, but the same people believe in the power of positive thingking/mind over matter etc and ultimately, it's all the same thing anyway - just using energy to help an existing will you have. Private - yes! Apart from here. These guys know more than my family and t start with that didn't sit right at all. How can they help me, or you if they don't know us though, we have to let people support us when we're down and our own brain is being a bit crazy. Lows - yes! A fellow emotional yo yo right here. Hugs to you, it's so hard when you're fighting yourself. Have you considered meditation? I see you have exercise already and you're right, that's fab for craves but for calming my brain I used cigs - now I sob like a baby lol. Less often though. I think your onto something with understanding the craves. When we smoke, we have craves all day, like every 20 mins or so it starts until we smoke and then it dies down. There are honestly far less craves when you take smoking off the table. Mindset is powerful, as is understand and education of addiction. I don't think we actually quit until we accept we are an addict to nicotine. I know very few people who would willingly accept being an addict and saying "oh yes, see you in 5 because I'm off to fulfill my nicotine addiction". It kinda sticks in the throat - like smoking! Too much rambling haha. Maybe something will help you. Regardless of anything else, you absolutely can do this. Quitting smoking is the single biggest gift you can give to yourself on so many levels. Even when you crave, just hold on, post, cry, suck candies, sleep and wait and you will always be glad to be a non smoker. Welcome! xx
  16. Aww Doreen, 11 months my scouser friend :) Absolutely inspirational work and I'm so pleased you have both feet my lovely. Massive congrats. x

  22. Massive congrats chick, 10 is fabulous!! x
  23. I nodded all the way through lol. It's monkeys is definately a well known saying. Pants and underwear... I tend to call the make underwear boxers and girls underwear knickers...
  24. That's so crucial isn't it, that attitude. Really pleased you have it to guide you through. Ultimately it's just a phase of the quit, and real uncomfortable, but passable. Actually not sure passable is a word lol, think I made it up :) Good on you treating yourself too. Why not :) We all love a treat and those Kiwi cigs were really expensive so it must be nice to see some funds, plus all the savings from the quit of NRT to come. So happy for you Gabby, hold on because you're doing great.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
