  3. Nope, none for me.
  4. Take some breaths my lovely. Everything will be the same apart from your beautiful 16 day quit if you smoke. Call someone to come and talk to you instead, or do something. How about singing, or dancing or walking, or sips of water, or deep breaths....can you do any of that instead?
  5. I literally just screamed out when I saw this and remembered today was your day!! BOOM!! 1 month in the bag, absolutely stunning work off you!! I bet you are so proud and rightly so :) I am fully in support of the only other nutter I found to quit smoking by a moon phase haha. So pleased for you, seriously, massive congrats!
  6. Went to the dentist - on my own - without valium for the first time in 20years!! Ps I prefer not being poor so I can afford private dental work but hoorah at my bravery :)

  14. More info then "one" needed kind sir! Yikes, batman needed for the save.
  15. Swimming with a 4 year old still knackers you but doesn't actually constitute any real exercise. Which feels unfair to be honest.
  16. Goodness Bakon, they're a bit early for bathroom sharing??! Tracey is british you know! We are a classy group and I have high hopes they are still on talking through the door stage. *shakes head at forward 'mericans*
  17. Struggled to answer this as my eyes kept watering, silly eyes :) I am pleased you got the help and support needed and that you can do all the things you do now, and kept your feet. Feet are most excellent to have and hold. Your story is powerful and resonated with me from the first time you posted. I have no doubts you caused that feeling for many many people Doreen, your kind and gentle ways will do that for people. I am happy people helped you so you could contribute to my quit, I get that's selfish but I will also pay it forward so all's fair etc. I think you are a pretty awesome lady and it would seem all who come into contact with you, be it family or online, notice that. You are good peoples. Celebrate every part of your quit, you deserve it! x
  18. Ok, here's what your inner junkie is trying to do - create a scenario where if it's pants you can smoke. Here's our new plan, you know I love a list..... Add to it Sus and others! 1) You could go for a walk if their idiots. 2) Come online here 3) Mention to a friend at the party the reason you guys are ex's is an inability to "take care" of a women (and leave it open to interpretation) 4) Throw the mother of all tantrums and throw everyone out of your house 5) Pass out drunk 6) Find a cute guy and while away some time, exercise is good after all Loads of options!! Smoking isn't one of em. You'll be cool :) PS don't smoke, I put your one month date in the calender and I'll be pissed if I have to change the date ;) PPS It might be fun!!
  19. Bless you Evelyn, good work! Nope from me too, just for today.
  20. 13, lucky for some :) Congrats Nancy. x
  21. Massive congrats for 10 months. x
  22. Hey Gabby, Pleased the trip went well. Re the smoking I think it's probably linked to "returning" to your smoking den for the first time (as in you haven't left since you quit), and like Bandito says it would be a safe place to be a smoker again. It's frustrating for sure but they are just thoughts and they no longer control you. I found the quickest way of getting rid of them is to acknowledge them as a trigger (as in I would have smoked here) and then say out loud or in my head, but I don't smoke anymore. Accepting the thought and then answering it seemed to make it go quicker then letting it fester in my head. xx

    Week 2Q

I don't think you are being over confident to accept smoking does nothing for you. This is why we suggest educating ourself, you did it before so I just think you were ready... and that's great!! Don't doubt yourself is my message here. It's great to be sure now, others were sure pretty quick (Bakon, sarge spring to mind) and their quits are solid. xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
