  1. Nope for me, enjoying the fitness for me and money for the family too much.
  2. Lovely meal?? Wasn't expecting that at the end lol. Ah well. better than lost finale :)
  3. Hi, It's tough when all around you smoke to start, I remember it well. Some tips is tell them all you've quit and ask them to look after you, not allgo out together etc. To be honest you might find it a bit too much, or not, everyone is different. Another tip, if you crave, really watch them smoke. You'll see a catch and acough and then remember that's the real smoking, also it's instinctive, not wonderfully relaxing as they never suddenly look blissful mid cig - if they stop coughing that is :) Just see it for what it is my lovely and it may actually reinforce your quit. x
  4. Congrats on 7 my lovely :) Brilliant. xx
  5. Wow, super quick recovery of a trigger, brilliant work :) xx
  6. I'm pleased to see you post, it's when we let these little thoughts take hold and grow they become too big to manage. Exactly right to say this feels hard. Remember certain countries used sleep loss as a form of torture! Sleep matters so I'm pleased you'll start getting some if your weather calms enough now. Rest up Susana and just bat those thoughts straight back out where you can. xx
  7. Massive congrats on your first quarter quit!! Great work!! x
  8. 3o mins of actual swimming as kidlets prefer to muck about :) and 10 mins on the exercise bike.
  9. Brilliant and welcome :) The more the merrier! Make sure you put your celebration dates on the calender so we can celebrate with you :) x
  10. You beauty!! 2 whole clean and free years and a wonderful support too. You are an amazing lady. xx
  11. I'm more the chilled type who wanders aimlessly :) Should I book certain things before I go as they work out cheaper Sharon? Would really welcome advice. Not ever done a family holiday before. No idea how to change money cost effectively or what sort of passes to look for? My sister lives there so I just assumed she would do the organising haha. x
  12. NOPE today is allowing me to take the kids swimming, both for funds and energy. So a defo NOPE from me :)
  13. At the suggestion of others there is no need for delayed treats - I treated myself the whole way through lol, sometime for more then I would have smoked! But it's been fabulous and nipped a lot of thoughts/triggers in the bud as I don't want to give that up. Nothing made me smile more then not counting pennies in the hotter weather when my girls asked for an ice cream after school :). Florida trip coming which was promised last year and I failed to deliver through not quitting when I was first supposed too. This year we are going for Halloween :) No one here can wait!! I think I always knew the financial costs, although I would work it out month by month. I totally didn't connect the dots on how many actual cigarettes that amounted too though. Thank you all for the "atta girls". I'm still a bit weirded out I would have smoked that many. Crazy.
  14. ((Beacon)). These things scare me silly. And I'm a carer for a COPD sufferer... 38 and my life is on hold, for years, while I support my Mum. I don't doubt that was a terribly hard conversation. Let it strengthen you as it does me. We will do all we can to make sure it's not us. xx
  15. Finally, my quit and I deliver, a year later then planned! 2 months today till Disneyland, Florida and the holiday I promised my baba. Can't wait :)

  16. A determined quit by a beautiful lady. Sandy, look how far you've come!! You always "had" this, you just needed to connect the dots, I am so delighted for you. Massive congrats on your 1 month! May we continue to celebrate many more together. xx
  17. I don't know as if I could do this with others Petra? I think the easiest way to start is to try and clear your mind laying in bed before sleeping. Now I use music to empty my head of thoughts (Metallica, nothing else matters or Nightcrawlers, or Buckethead the bomb are favoured lol). My friends use a lot of dolphin music and drumming type stuff but I think that's a bit much for me. Although I do like chakra drums. *slinking quietly to do my woo woo work* haha. Tarot, Crystals, angel healing, Universal reiki healing, empathic healing, lightworker. I can bring all kinds of woo woo :) but meditation is very natural and I think our brains need time to slow down. And we need time to connect to who we are inside and listen to that. Renee, where would I find the gallery, I would love to see the meditation room pics :) x
  18. I just nearly fell off my chair when I clocked my ticker!! 5,004 cigs I have not smoked since I quit, that's just mad!! Don't know whether to celebrate or cry to be honest. I smoked SO much, it was crazy. I didn't have one of those easy peasy quits. Perhaps personality? For sure, a lot of my life can be described as doing it the hard way but overall I end up happy and content, my quit is no different I guess. Means I have more tools to pay it forward with I think so I do that and save the judgements. Life is too short...it would have been much shorter if I carried on at that rate!! I remember the utter celebration on day 1 when I didn't smoke, shhh but I had no idea going in whether I could do this or not, that fear stopped and started at times. Now my panic is just "staying vigilant" and making sure my quit is protected at all costs! I have absolutely no point to this post lol, just I'm stunned I smoked and therefore now "didn't smoke" that many in a short 5 months! Greatful every day that I found you guys to hold my hand while I stumbled through the fog and confusion and that despite some tough days, it feels a million times easier today. Thank you all. xx
  19. I love this Doreen :) I also have a smile to match yours when I walk past that counter. x
  20. iulia?? Hey sweetie, how's it going?
  21. Massive congrats on 10 months!! xx
  22. nope for me.
  23. -12
  24. I actually probably dance like that
  25. It's strange isn't it. For years the worst thing would be to forget them, it would require an immediate detour home or to a shop for a purchase. Pleased you laughed, freedom always sounds happier. x

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
