  1. nah orange is poop, cranberry is wee :) Oh to be a parent and have this oh so useful information stored internally :) Anyway - if you've done away with the patch then this totally explains the tiredness!! At the risk of upsetting the "fruit cart" the acids in cranberry are marginally higher than other juices, so it will speed up the removal of nicotine by a few hours over any other juice - so I say drink one you like! Sips, every couple of hours will ease that tiredness right off. xx
  2. Juice gets rid of the nicotine in your system quicker and also helped to manage blood sugar levels which dip for a few days - cranberry is the "best" juice (something to do with acidity) but any fruit juice will work. It's why I asked if you were using the patch. The tiredness you describe sounds like a blood sugar dip but you shouldn't get that on the patch (unless you were a real heavy smoker maybe...). Weight, tempting but pointless to get hung up. Compensate with healthy snacks or go for a walk more often. It's only the eating more that puts weight on. x
  3. Me either Becca and yet here I am reading too. Healthy eating here we come :)
  4. Today is the 7th day, one week today :)

    omg 7 days!!

I thought you were 7 day today but calender says tomoz! Go Sam!!
  6. No I totally get the nice underwear thing. A gal can totally feel she's got her sh*t together if bra and panties match or were purchased at a nice establishment :)
  7. Ah weight, yeah I put on a few pounds but that's because I ate shed loads of food. I am dieting and exercising it off now and actually really lovin exercise for the first time in years. It doesn't feel like a chore as a non smoker, I look forward to it. So no real issue, deal with the quit, then with the weight. I will be nicotine free and back to the same weight within 6 months of stopping - not a problem. x
  8. To add a friend simply go into their name and click near the top add as a friend. You can absolutely drive with brain fog, it's mental, not physical. Do watch your concentration levels generally though. Think something in a cigarette surpressed some thirst reflex. No idea why and I don't know if anyone else said but I never drank water as a smoker, now I drink loads most days and really feel dehydrated quickly if I don't. Not something I ever noticed before. Phrasing to friends, you can try I would appreciate help not smoking around me - but to be honest most smokers get the hump and take it like some personal slight...I went really offensive quite quickly complete with tutting and frantic hand waving haha... maybe you'll be nicer though :)
  9. You qualify now after a year? Great news!
  10. That's ok, you got nothing but time to understand how this works for you. Did you go with using the patch in the end? x
  11. you guys rock!

  13. I love this summary...go Sarah!! Lol at the picky, good girl!
  14. 1st day of school for my little Bella. She seems far too little to me but is full of her usual smiles and hunts for adventure....Milly was also super excited to see her buddies and give out birthday party invites.

  18. Need distraction!! And to laugh, the tissue bill is about to go through the roof here...my baby's first day at school.... 3 hours 25 minutes till pick up time. What's your favourite joke or link to make me smile. Idon't like all this crying and depressive stuff and my little Bella is happy as larry whilst I am a mess :(
  19. Giving up cigs was a great thing - handing a baby over for her first day at school is as hard with the 2nd as it was with the 1st. Children happy/mummy not happy.

  20. Ran out of tissues for sending my baby to her first school day.. Decided I could restart the 30 day shred ... So day 1 level 1 shred done.
  21. A surreal feeling? Bit of brain fog? Emotional swings? All normal for some, for me they were a part of my early quit too. My solid and best advice is just to try really hard to distract yourself, by posting, cleaning, writing lists, dancing, ANY exercise. With each crave you get through you make this quit stronger. So the idea is to plough ahead without over thinking and deal with each scenario as it comes. You used to stop a lot and take 5 minutes to top up your addiction so that time feels kinda aimless to start with and that's where having an idea in advance of what you could do will help you - rather then sit and dwell on the thoughts/craves/triggers...does that make any sense?
  22. Aww happy 7 months bug :) Hope you keep popping back so we can celebrate your milestones too. Congrats to you. xx
  23. We always "kinda" read there were other componants in cigs, but never bought into how awful they are. How addictive it is. Read the pinned posts at the top of the quit smoking forum, one is about what's in a cig. Has the crave passed again now. x
  24. Nah, you can't post too much. Many days I'd look across the board and every post had my name :) Some people just go and do it, others need support. If it helps to think another way, when someone supports you, they are validating their own quit (getting it straight and re-infoced in their own head). So actually, you posting has 3 wins, you have something to do and support, the person who responds makes a point which reinforces their quit and as a bonus some lurker or other non quit yet person may read it and take inspiration!
  25. Done Nancy and thank you...very nervous...no one has ever seen a poem I've written. xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
