  4. another crazy bad day... NOPE
  5. And that's it really Doreen isn't it....who would know it'd addictive like that!! Because if it were so bad it wouldn't be available and taxed, it would be banned right...and no one would get sucked in again....and oh.... It's plain sick that it's readily available when they know what damage it does. The more I think the more angry I become about the target audience!!
  6. I'm so sorry I didn't clock this. I will do better! Don't doubt I love you to pieces tho and am super chuffed to celebrate this milestone with you. Massive congrats. Battle well fought lady. xx

  9. Yep, no one at the gym is in the slightest bit interested, but hey, we ladies like a panic :) There's lots of nutrion talks on you tube, I found loads when I searched (same as you, wasn't sure). Also books, library had loads on healthy eating - who knew! I would not be able to count calories, but I can use my fitness pal with no issues (big up as I'm rubbish at computers) and they have the exercise section which works out how much to eat back too. It works great when you use it :) I'm reading what Colleen says with interest too. Bread seems to pile weight on me. I used to have toast and a sandwich and the days I go bread free now are more because it makes me feel sluggish, I only have pasta once a week now for the same reason too. Sure I read the body finds it hard to process it. I love to snack on fruit, but stuff I like, strawberries/melon/grapes - I'm not an apple girl so try some fruits to see which ones taste good for you, you eat it if you like it.
  10. Love it!! Likin Mrs Bakon's style with the car washing too haha.
  11. Wow, that's utterly horrific to read, I genuinely had no real idea they were targeting us all so young and that campaigns were part of that. I'd like to say interesting but it feels too small. Make sure we stay free and show our little people a better way.
  12. Wow really, oops lol. Thanks for the info :)
  13. Just got goosebumps reading this Natalie, lovely piece of writing!! Lovin the message too :) So proud of you my lovely, through all the fear of addiction you kept talking and let us walk with you but more, kept putting one foot in front of the other. Thank you for allowing me personally to be part of your journey and I'm sure everyone feels the same, it's a privilege. You are doing great!!
  14. Day 3 level 1 shred. Muscles stopped burning today? So I worked harder and added some arm weights to the end... It's great and if it gets results then all good. However I feel like I'm missing my longer workouts. GEM, were you able to add other exercise without doing yourself an injury?
  15. Aww I love this, it makes me smile for you. We all need a little feel good factor in our lives and what a fabulous and healthy way to get itfor yourself!! Absolutely inspirational!! Money's always good but self worth and pride are priceless - good job beauty!! x
  16. "OH YEAH, OH YEAH, OH YEAH" (you will have to imagine the arm swing and hip swing that goes with it lol) One of the weirdest things I read from you was a post saying your patience wasn't very good, you could use being more tolerant and I did a laugh snort thing! You are so so lovely and supportive and I have also been on the receiving end of kind supportive words on more than one occasion. You utterly rock and the fact that you battled thoughts occasionally and said, well it helped me bat mine back - more than that - I am so pleased you dismissed that yourself so we can celebrate a beautiful year of freedom for you. Lots of love and heartfelt congratulations beautiful lady. xx
  17. chill out is always nice. Have a good avo watching pants tv :)
  18. That could work too :) Bad, bad wine! lol. Feel better soon. xx
  19. MEL, it's you :) NOPE and the biggest heartfelt congrats for a year free! x
  20. Paracetamol Greasy spoon (not sure if this works for a veggie) Salt and vinegar crisps, lucozade/ 1/2 cider some water (landlady cure! replaces salt, sugar and fluid) ((sarah))
  21. I am cracking up at these. Brilliance :)
  22. For me I was eating healthy enough but my calorie intake was outta control versus what I needed. Portion control was out of whack and my drinks were adding in many calories! So I'd have a salad, but it was huge, with dressing etc. So I found balsamic dressing and that's much lower in calories. I'd have loads of coffee and tea which I've now subbed to more water (fill a bottle in the morning and you're more likely to sip it). I also added some herbal teas. Peppermint tea before bed is brilliant for settling the stomach and for making you relax and be drousy too. Food wise, I halved portions of pasta/rice/chips and subbed them for salad or veg. I subbed sandwichs for soup and a roll or salad (soups like minestrone or veg soup are tasty and good for you). For dinners I eat more lean white meat now (chicken/turkey) and am about to add some quorn products as apparently they are low fat but tasty, so thinking sausages and mince? I can't abide plain meals tho so I do marinade everything in something, like piri piri chicken, bbq turkey but I water the sauce down and oven cook it so it's not as calorific but still has a flavour if that makes sense. I still had to move though, diet alone will lose you weight but super slowly. I started really gently, going for walks, exercise programs (yoga/pilates) I could do at home. Have you thought about adding any of that as well?
  23. Jen?? x
  24. Yeah, I totally get that. The confusion eases as soon as you start putting your newer "new" in place. So morning coffee and quit train, replaces the cig (also I would sit in a different room to start). Everyone loves donuts tho. x
  25. I missed posting on a whole music post?! I love music :) As it's my eldest babies birthday tomorrow my song for her

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
