  3. I never cared for the stuff myself but that was decades ago the only time I tried it and it was very hard to chew and tasted bad to me but hey; if it helps you through the early days then no harm in giving it a try. Just know that whatever quit aids you might try, you'll have to wean yourself off those at some point in the future but some people feel that it's easier to have some aid product in the early days then wean off it later when confidence is higher. In the end there's no magic product that will take away the hard work we all have to do in order to quit successfully long term. No short cuts there but as I said before, some find it helpful to use nicotine replacement products early on in their quit. Many roads lead to Rome. Doesn't matter which one you choose as long as you get there!

  17. True this trip will evoke many triggers but perhaps you can also think of it as an adventure to enjoy in a renewed way because now you can do so without being a slave to nicotine. I love what you said about your Dad's ashes. That's just beautiful. He'd be oh so proud of you for doing this for him as well as the fact that you are now quit! His love will warm your heart as he looks down on you. I think you'll be just fine Enjoy!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
