  1. Yeah and now, the chicks are dominating us :(
  2. Wow - very compelling story. Nicely told too. Thanks for sharing that with us.
  3. Happy Birthday Bakon!

  7. Beautiful story PS !! Nicely told and I'm glad it had a happy ending :) Love the "scaffolding" reference too; it's perfect! It would be pretty scary to quit same time as my partner I think. My wife quit years ago and I have now. It's been fine one at a time like that. I can see it could get pretty explosive for some couples though. We aren't always at our emotional best during our quit.
  8. OK - that's interesting. I hear the Zyban does work well for some. Didn't try that as I quit pretty suddenly without any real planning. I was using nicotine patches first 2 days then forgot to put one on so just went cold turkey. Probably no one quitting method is right for everyone so just go with what you think is best for you. Hope it goes well for you natalie. Check in with us often :) You're English language and spelling are fine, by the way :)
  9. Nice JOB !!!!!!!!! Sticks WINNNNN
  10. PS; let me help you out here (one time offer as we are now adversaries in this game). Bakon will randomly put in any positive number he feels like, just to get the "chicks" going. He SHOULD have entered 0, then you would go with -1. I would then come in with 0 again. Now we're straight again. You will figure out the "Bakon" factor pretty quickly - lol We are now at 0
  11. Not a Buckeye kind of guy.
  12. Relatively new here myself natalie_3 but welcome back. You've quit before obviously so you know what the drill is. You using any quit aids or Cold Turkey and is that any different from the previous time you quit? Just curious. Come often, read up on all the quit smoking stuff again and strap yourself in for the ride. Looking forward to sharing the journey with you :)
  13. We let that one get away on us boys!!
  14. It was looking good for awhile there guys but we just couldn't land it!!

  20. I just want to be able to get outside again. Snowing steadily here yet again :( Getting cabin fever here :P
  21. Umm..... yes, I have had some of that stuff and I'm pretty sure it's related to the quit. I had horrible bronchitis when I quit. Matter of fact; that's probably the single thing that pushed me over the quitting brink. Later on I developed a brutal sinus infection. I have also had very abnormal sleep patterns and wake up at night with a feeling like my mouth and throat is full of sand. Run to the bathroom for a drink of water then try to sleep again, assuming I can breath with the sinus thing - lol. With all this stuff going on, I'm still thrilled that I don't smoke any longer. I'm pretty sure this will all settle down at some point. I'm willing to put up with some discomfort for a longer, healthier life!
  22. I don't know about you but my first month seemed like a year in normal time. After that, time passed as normal more or less but that first month was never ending lol :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
