  2. With all these fine people celebrating milestones today, how could I smoke so NOPE!
  3. Congratulations GraceLove for reaching 1/4 year smoke free today. Well Done! I'm sure you've had your struggles along the way but isn't it great to be able to measure your progress as 1/4 year now! Go get yourself a treat today then carry on Grace :)
  4. Congrats Rob on getting through hell week & now WTF eek. It's the toughest and now you're done with that. Remember to reward yourself for a great job. Now carry on to freedom! 2 Weeks Smoke Free is fantastic. Sorry, I can't fix the thread title to make it 2 weeks instead of 1 :(
  5. Congrats Feely for getting through Hell week! It's the hardest week of all to navigate and you've done it. Treat yourself to something today - you deserve it :)
  6. Keep fighting Feely, These days you have gone though recently are the worst of it. They will pass and it WILL get better. You just have to never take even one puff more from a cig.! Going to bed early also helped me in the early part of my quit. I think I was either on this board or in bed interspersed with having to go to work as well. Those early days I would end up exhausted just from fighting the urges to smoke and the anxiety from stopping smoking. It's tough work but so worthwhile because that doesn't least very long in the grand scheme of things. The benefits from quitting will last you forever though. Keep going Feely :)
  7. I think I started saying I would quit if the cost ever went over $5.00. That was decades ago. They were around $12.50/pack when I quit in Jan. 2017. The govt. just put even more tax on cigs here a month or so ago. That's where the Govt. goes now for $$ - sin taxes. Cigs & Booze plus lotteries are also huge revenue streams.

  12. -13 Nice try Stewie - I see you're getting desperate ??
  13. My regular breathing (when I'm not active etc.) improved a lot almost immediately on quitting smoking but alas, any degree of strenuous effort, I get out of breath fairly quickly still. Not sure that has improved much yet after 3 months. Your breathing can be affected by a number of things though. Weather conditions (humidity, heat etc.) Also stress or anxiety can also cause breathing issues that you may not be used to as normal. It may have just been an anomaly Feely. It it occurs again, see a Dr. would be my suggestion.
  14. You're always welcome to join us Edna :) We can never have enough mentors for people wanting to rid themselves of this addiction.

  20. Edna is more than welcome to come here and join us any time she likes. I don't think people here really care what was said to be honest with you. It was a trying time for all you people over there and I'm sure there was a lot of emotion involved in various reunion thready on the QSMB site. Sometimes, emotions get the better of us. Edna has shown great courage and personal accountability by coming here and posting twice to let us know how badly she feels about whatever it was that happened. She certainly didn't have to do that. I really admire her for that so in my books - she's OK :)
  21. -4 This is like having a slow leak in your tire - you know you're in trouble, just a matter of when!
  22. Actually, I don't mind the shit in a box. It's the ones on the floor I don't care for :P
  23. OK - back on this treadmill ............. 3
  24. In your case Rob, it just may be an indication that your mental attitude has changed this time around. Last quit attempt you just smoked that cig. This time, you had the sense to think about it a while first and kept your NOPE :) Based on reading what I think was your introductory post, it seemed to me that you have learned that hard lesson about "just one puff". 2 weeks off those coffin nails is great. Hardest part behind you - best part ahead :D
  25. Fabulous Robrr44!! isn't it great to put each of those early weeks behind you? I think I'll just join you in that Sunday NOPE!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
