  1. Actually, that one was an honest mistake (as opposed to all the other times). -13
  2. 12 G'Day all :)
  3. NOPE! For my Mother, I will not smoke on Mother's Day :)
  4. Congratulations Lone Goose on getting to the 6 month mark without cigarettes! You're half way to the lido deck and looking good :D We can't blame you for doing that happy Goose dance. This is a fantastic accomplishment :good:
  5. Congratulations beazel on reaching the 2 month mark as a non smoker. That's a long time and although it has not always been easy or smooth sailing, you have acquired all the tools you'll need to make this a permanent quit! Now, go treat yourself to something really nice to celebrate this new milestone. Maybe a nice massage? :D

  7. You should be able to just left click on the quite button bottom right of the response you wish to quote and it should produce the quote above your response is like here in my response to you. I've had sinus issues for probably 2 months now although this week I think it's maybe improving a bit. Very frustration though as if affects sleep. We went out today to a sporting event and like you, I too enjoyed the fact I didn't have to smoke before and after and make others wait up for me. It was really strange as well to come out of the stadium and be immediately hit with the strong smell of cigarette smoke. Of course, I never noticed it ever before because I smoked and was one of those people who rushed outside and lit up a smoke immediately.
  8. Wow, congratulations Pearlie on your 11 month quit! You better start packing your bags cuz you're heading for that Lido Deck next month. Don't forget to take a little time to celebrate today though. You deserve it :)
  9. Congratulations Stevo. 4 months done and finished - you're doing great! Keep it up. Aren't you glad you no longer have to come up with crazy ways to light that smoke when you loose your lighter?
  10. Congratulations JP :) 8 months free of those deadly cigs is fabulous:) Treat yourself to something nice today.

  18. Keep reading & watching Feely. The more you read, the more you'll understand and the easier it will be to rationalize this quitting thing. We are always here routing for you too :)
  19. Yes - Jules ! That's the way to do it. Proud of you :) You did exactly the right thing by posting up an SOS. As others have said, each time you successfully fight through one of these urges to smoke, you become stronger and the addiction becomes weaker. It really does work that way. You just have to stay with the Not One Puff thing long enough and it will become much more easy to manage. May I also suggest to you that you post up your very own post in the "Pre-Respond to your own SOS" board at the top of the SOS page. This is something you can go to anytime night or day as well as posting an SOS to the rest of us. This will allow you to read your own words as to why you should not smoke a cigarette. It has helped to save a few quits along the way.
  20. Come back on here and let me know you are still with us. Let's talk about a quit plan, if you don't already have one. There's some things we can work on that may help you to get past these early days.
  21. Are you quitting cold turkey or with a patch or chantix? Is this your first day quitting after your recent relapse? I know how strong those cravins are but, they also only last so long as really intense urges so just keep yourself busy for 10 minutes or so. It will easy up and you'll be able to think more clearly about your quit then.
  22. No don't smoke Jules. Whatever you do don't smoke!! Go take a walk or a bath or a shower or, just stay on here and read or watch videos about how bad smoking is for you. Do anything but smoke!!
  23. So; do we have a "man overboard"? Is that the purpose of this survey?
  24. Oink, oink.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
