  8. And so you should be both proud and relieved. For most of us, quitting is tough work and takes a concentrated effort over a pretty long time. As with many things in life though, the greater the effort, the greater the reward. Enjoy your rewards!
  9. -18 That's not gonna help for long :(
  10. Congratulations Parsley on making it through that first month! It's certainly the hardest part of quitting. Treat yourself to something nice - you deserve it!

  16. Lots of people use patches. I would follow either the instructions on the pack of patches or your doctor's advice in terms of when to do the step downs. I started out day 1 & 2 using a 21 mg patch then forgot to put one on day 3 after my morning shower. I didn't feel a lot different from when I was wearing the patch so I just decided to go C.T. at that point. Get the nicotine out of my body right away instead of having to worry about that later. I can't say if that was the right way to go or not. It has worked for me but it also wasn't easy so - do what every you think is right for YOU. As you said, quitting smoking is our common goal and any way we can get there is "the right way" :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
