  1. -2 Good Luck :P
  2. Welcome to the Quit Train georgen :) You have made the right decision to quit smoking and from the sounds of your situation, there is no choice really - you MUST quit smoking. One of our members here (Doreen) will I'm sure have some information for you on how smoking can negatively effect your circulation. It's a real threat, not just cancer and what not. Having a good support group is vital. I found that out myself just by joining this one. You won't find a better group to support you through your quit but of course, YOU are the main attraction here and will have to do the heavy lifting yourself. Just commit to getting this done, do the hard work and we will support you and cheer you on :) Oh and georgen, your family knows you're smoking. I would bet on it. You can try but it's virtually impossible to mask that smell. Think about maybe including them in the support effort. I'm sure they would love to. Looking forward to sharing your journey to freedom!
  3. Congratulations H2N!! Your 7 month quit is awesome. I'm sure your really enjoying the benefits of quitting and that part has just begun. Keep your eye on the ball now H2N and you'll be settling down on the Lido Deck before you know it :)
  4. Hey Andy, you're almost there that that long awaited, hard fought for 1 year mark. In fact, I think I see that ship with the Lido Deck hanging around just offshore. Great job my friend!
  5. Hope you had a great "smoke-free" birthday L.G. Drop in sometime and say howdy :)

  16. You are not crazy. What you are feeling and thinking is completely normal. These are the tough times we all go through at the start of our quits but you are stronger than that voice so just do what you need to and ignore it. Keep yourself busy and distracted. Change up your routine where possible. Keep hydrated and get as much sleep as you can. They call this first week "hell week" for a reason but it won't kill you and you can make it through. We all have and you will too - just say NOPE!! Very important! Take things an hour at a time. Don't think too far ahead. It's all doable :)

  22. Yeah - pretty normal. I was tired at weird times too at the start of my quit although, I found it was just from being kind of on edge and anxious all day long. If you can, sleep when you feel like it and be happy you can. As Doreen said, some people have the opposite issue, which I think would be worse? Keep hydrated too as I think that helps your body adjust.
  23. The pride you new quitters will feel once you start down this road, fight and win a few battles with the nicodemon and find out; yes, you can actually do this, will be tremendous. Best feeling ever to be in control of your own destiny :)
  24. Very good! -4

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
