  5. -13 Nice try Stewie - I see you're getting desperate ??
  6. My regular breathing (when I'm not active etc.) improved a lot almost immediately on quitting smoking but alas, any degree of strenuous effort, I get out of breath fairly quickly still. Not sure that has improved much yet after 3 months. Your breathing can be affected by a number of things though. Weather conditions (humidity, heat etc.) Also stress or anxiety can also cause breathing issues that you may not be used to as normal. It may have just been an anomaly Feely. It it occurs again, see a Dr. would be my suggestion.
  7. You're always welcome to join us Edna :) We can never have enough mentors for people wanting to rid themselves of this addiction.

  13. Edna is more than welcome to come here and join us any time she likes. I don't think people here really care what was said to be honest with you. It was a trying time for all you people over there and I'm sure there was a lot of emotion involved in various reunion thready on the QSMB site. Sometimes, emotions get the better of us. Edna has shown great courage and personal accountability by coming here and posting twice to let us know how badly she feels about whatever it was that happened. She certainly didn't have to do that. I really admire her for that so in my books - she's OK :)
  14. -4 This is like having a slow leak in your tire - you know you're in trouble, just a matter of when!
  15. Actually, I don't mind the shit in a box. It's the ones on the floor I don't care for :P
  16. OK - back on this treadmill ............. 3
  17. In your case Rob, it just may be an indication that your mental attitude has changed this time around. Last quit attempt you just smoked that cig. This time, you had the sense to think about it a while first and kept your NOPE :) Based on reading what I think was your introductory post, it seemed to me that you have learned that hard lesson about "just one puff". 2 weeks off those coffin nails is great. Hardest part behind you - best part ahead :D
  18. Fabulous Robrr44!! isn't it great to put each of those early weeks behind you? I think I'll just join you in that Sunday NOPE!
  19. I think you will be very pleased going forward CP1973 :) Yes, the craving will still be there but not always and not really even craves - more just thoughts of smoking with the occasional crave thrown in. I found that to be true with me anyway. We're all a little different in our experiences and timing but with us all, it just gets better the further you get into your quit. You're doing GREAT Claire!
  20. I can't say I'm not disappointed to hear this because I am. We did our best to make all from the struggling QSMB feel welcome and more importantly to secure the quits of those who were early on in their quits. The celebratory stuff is all well and fine and really just an expression of our pride for the person reaching a milestone. A pat on the back from people who know how hard it is to reach those milestones. So I'm not really bothered much about how our last minute celebratory thread was perceived by the guest of honor. What I am truly happy about and what we should all be proud of are comments that we received from those QSMB people who were early in their quits. I believe one even suggested that coming here may have saved their quit! That's the real focus here - quitting this horrible addiction that literally costs lives and helping those early in that process to move forward toward their own personal freedom. That was our focus then and it should always be our focus going forward. I'm impressed that you Edna have paid us the courtesy of an apology for what ever may have been said elsewhere. That takes guts and a degree of personal accountability so - thank you. I also truly wish that as you go forward at QSMB now as a long term proven quitter, that you share all the knowledge you can to foster those new quitters along in their journey. That's our collective responsibility in paying forward the support we have all received along the way ourselves.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
