  1. Every day on the Quit Train is No Tobacco Day!
  2. Calling all Newbies. If you find yourself needing to keep occupied and you're tired of reading all the serious stuff then why not check out the Games page of the forum. There's plenty of mind numbing stuff there to keep you busy for awhile. We only have one rule ........................... there's a 1 month reverse count rule for the "chicks or sticks" game. This means any "chick" (female player) playing this game must, for the first month, ADD one NOT take one away. It's kind of an initiation rule :) I'll have Bakon keep an eye on things to make sure everyone is adhering to this rule. Thank You and have fun playing!!

  6. Congrats. to you ish for getting that 1st week, the toughest one, out of the way. Treat yourself as a well deserved reward then focus in on week 2. Good Job! You're doing it :)

  9. That's the way Kellemae. I know it's tough at first, really tough but I promise it will get easier as long as you don't smoke again - not even 1 puff. Just do what you have to not to give into that voice that is trying to deceive you. As Parsley says, no matter what stress is thrown at you in life, smoking will not help. Smoking is only feeding your addiction to nicotine. It won't make any of life's problems better in fact, the opposite is true. Stay strong my friend. Each time you successfully fight an urge to smoke, you get stronger and the addiction gets weaker. That's how it goes so, stick with the program and you'll be OK.

I believe there was a recent survey on whether she should be naught or nice? (Oh my; I'm actually starting to understand all this nonsense :o )

  12. Welcome to the Quit Train georgen :) You have made the right decision to quit smoking and from the sounds of your situation, there is no choice really - you MUST quit smoking. One of our members here (Doreen) will I'm sure have some information for you on how smoking can negatively effect your circulation. It's a real threat, not just cancer and what not. Having a good support group is vital. I found that out myself just by joining this one. You won't find a better group to support you through your quit but of course, YOU are the main attraction here and will have to do the heavy lifting yourself. Just commit to getting this done, do the hard work and we will support you and cheer you on :) Oh and georgen, your family knows you're smoking. I would bet on it. You can try but it's virtually impossible to mask that smell. Think about maybe including them in the support effort. I'm sure they would love to. Looking forward to sharing your journey to freedom!
  13. Congratulations H2N!! Your 7 month quit is awesome. I'm sure your really enjoying the benefits of quitting and that part has just begun. Keep your eye on the ball now H2N and you'll be settling down on the Lido Deck before you know it :)
  14. Hey Andy, you're almost there that that long awaited, hard fought for 1 year mark. In fact, I think I see that ship with the Lido Deck hanging around just offshore. Great job my friend!
  15. Hope you had a great "smoke-free" birthday L.G. Drop in sometime and say howdy :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
