  2. The milestones I focused on up til now were: 1 day 1 week 2 weeks 1 month 3 months 6 months All those have been achieved and some of that time wasn't easy nor did I know whether I could make them or not at times  My next one is 1 full year :D It's still a long way off for me yet but for some reason, 7,8,9, 10 & 11 months just holds no special meaning to me. I'm going for the holy grail in quitting - dream big ;)

  4. Congrats Jewel on reaching the 2 month mark. I know you are still fighting but also are at the point where you are seeing the benefits of quitting so just carry on doing what you have been doing and you will be just fine. Be sure to treat yourself for reaching this new milestone :) I can't wait to post up your 1/4 year celebration next month!
  5. Congratulations Leanna on achieving this amazing milestone! I'm sure your life is so much better in so many ways after five years without smoking. Thanks for setting such a great example for those of us coming along after you :) Be sure to celebrate this fantastic achievement!!

  7. Yes - looking forward to all of that and this one is a pretty long flight so the entire ordeal will be pretty much a whole day but no need for a smoke now!!
  8. True - LOL and yes, my fav color is Green too :) N.P. has surfed at least once in their life? By the way; where the heck is the creator of this game ..... Jimmyss; where are you??

  10. You are right on track Jewel to making this your permanent quit :) Everything you said above is pretty much right on for almost 2 months quit so just keep doing what you are doing now and take it a day at a time. It is a slow process but I'm sure you can see the difference between week one and now - right? That's how is goes - slowly but, the progress IS there and there is no denying that. Just wait till you are at 3 months, then 4 months ..... it gets better and easier all the time. You just need to put in the hard work consistently and before you know it; you will not even be able to imagine yourself as a smoker. Such pride in your accomplishment and in your ability to free yourself from this horrible addiction. Something to celebrate for so many reasons :)
  11. The warden & I ...... oops; I mean me & the wife, are going to Vegas Sunday for a few days just because we got a super deal on a flight/hotel package. I am also wondering what my reaction to being in heavy smoking areas will be. I suspect much the same as yours. This will also be my first long-haul flight experience since I quit smoking so there will be a lot of new experiences for me. Most of which will be pleasant I expect. It's interesting our take on things as smokers then as non-smokers. I'm just glad I won't have to go into that smoking room in the Vegas Airport. I'm pretty sure I went in there a couple of times last time I was there and even as a smoker .... it was disgusting as I recall LOL :)
  12. Worth a read for any newbies or lurkers out there!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
