  9. There's no easy way to quit smoking. People have tried it all and at some point or other you just need to STOP smoking everything. It's not even just the nicotine issue. The whole mechanical process involved with vaping is so similar to smoking cigarettes that even with zero nicotine in your vaping pen or whatever, you are still reinforcing the smoking motions in your brain every time you pick up that pen to pacify yourself. Sooner or later, you will pick up a cigarette instead of that zero milligram vape pen and within hours or days you'll be back to a pack a day - I guarantee it!!
  10. So sorry to hear this BTR! Everything you said is so true about falsely believing you can "trick" the addiction. The addiction is really "tricking" YOU! I can understand you are devastated and very disappointed in what has happened but USE this experience as a lesson to be applied toward your permanent quit! We are all addicts BTR, all of us. No one is special. No one can play in both worlds and get away with it. That's what the very simple pledge of NOPE is all about. Not One Puff Ever. Because for all of us, one puff leads to one cigarette and one cigarette leads to a pack a day or worse. It's the same for all of us! No special snowflakes in this addiction. Now, jump right back on this train and do it right this time! NOPE every day. Come here and post as much as you can. Seek advice. Read all you can. Vent, ask questions or just ramble on about your day. It will help keep you focused. Come on now .... give me your hand!

  12. The yungin's will have no clue about the egg thing. Why shit! Took me longer to figure that out than it did to quit smoking
  13. Don't forget folks, we are addicts and as such, you will always be tied mentally to that addiction so it will never be like it didn't ever happen but once you have adjusted every aspect of your lifestyle to functioning as a non-smoker, you will be very comfortable with the whole thing and any thoughts you might have of smoking at that point will be just that; thoughts and memories of a past lifestyle. Personally, I'm glad of the occasional reminders. It reminds me that I am a nicotine addict and I know from everything I have learned here about this addiction that if I have "just 1", I will become a full time smoker again and I've worked too hard to ever want to go back there

  18. Hi WoW! Welcome to our family of non smokers. You are still very young and not smoked for all that long really so although you may not be concerned about health issues now, you are likely to at some future point so, quitting now is the best decision you could make for yourself. It's great that you want to quit for your girlfriend but, honestly, you need to want to do this for yourself to be successful long term. You're not likely to want to hear what I have to say about vaping but I do believe you need to quit smoking everything if you want to be successful long term. As you have seen yourself, when vaping isn't available, you will always gravitate back to smoking cigarettes. Quit them all is the best, and frankly, the only way to truly become smoke free. And yes, you can do it just as the rest of us here have done it. Stick around for support from like minded people and read, read, read all the information available here about this addiction. Take the NOPE pledge daily (Not One Puff Ever). These are the keys to quitting Your freedom awaits if you want to work hard for it
  19. Big 'ol NOPE in honor of the Winter Olympics
  20. And I'll provide her with the frying pan Be Good now Mr. "T".
  21. Oh Yes she does indeed!! Congrats Latoya!! You're doing great. Shame on me for missing your big day I was asleep at the switch!! (Actually, I was shoveling snow - lol). Next month you can start measuring your quit in fractions of a year
  22. Congratulations Ron! 9 Months is a great quit. You are 3/4 of the way to your 1st full year without smoking. Keep up the great work and you'll be on that Lido Deck before you know it
  23. Hi and welcome to Quit Train RVQ! Congrats on having 9 months quit under your belt. That's impressive! We have a whole library of Joel's videos here although you may have seen them all by now if you were part of the Why Quit community. You are correct in your statement about "Understanding". Knowledge about this addiction and how it works is truly the key to quitting successfully long term Oh and, another Cold Turkey guy here as well. Get the Nicotine out ASAP was my thought! Other methods may work for some but I'm glad I went CT!
  24. Hello .................... Test; 1,2,3. Anyone out there???

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
