  2. Tomorrow, at the 11th hour, of the 11 Day of the 11th Month. Please take a moment to remember those who gave their lives to ensure WE could live in freedom. Regardless of the conflict they fought in, we owe them a debt that can never be repaid. Their reality ............................ Our reality ..............................

  6. One of my sister's was like that and had a very good job. She eventually went on "sick leave" and never went back. Years of medical diagnosis followed with apparently no result. Job terminated her and she could not get long term disability because of the vague medical details. Turned into a big lawsuit where the lawyers get most of the $$. As it turned out, she was just a drunk who finally decided she would prefer to drink rather than work. Now she's dead from drinking and smoking. I had to clean her house. Wish I had photos to show. It would dissuade anyone from starting to smoke. Truly sad when you come across people like that and you KNOW you can't help them until they want to help themselves! Their future is not a bright picture!!
  7. A dollar ????? LOL. Apparently, in Australia a pack is in the area of $24.00 - $25.00 a pack. Can you even imagine that??
  8. Sorry to learn your plate is so full right now dear friend. Hope the future brings comfort instead of more turmoil for you but know this: You have quit smoking and that is an absolute good thing. If you can deal with that, you can deal with anything life throws at you. As always, we are here if you need us and not just for the quitting thing

  15. Welcome NoMore! We're happy to have you as part of our family of quitters Please read all the stuff you can here, particularly the "pinned" posts at the top of the page. Understanding this addiction is really important. You mentioned about the stressful event that caused you to relapse? We believe that smoking will reduce stress from life events but in reality, smoking just reduces your anxiety that comes from needing to feed the addiction of smoking. Your life events are still there whether stressful or not. Smoking does nothing to fix those issues. Get rid of the anxiety you create for yourself by smoking and needing to feed that addiction every hour or so and you'll be that much further ahead. Hang around and let us support you on your journey to freedom!
  16. Pretty sure Sticks should be +20 but .... I'll play along. -8
  17. No Hate - I just wish I had never started then had to quit. I can relate to the "life changing status" of quitting though, absolutely. It is something that is very hard to do and so something to be very proud of having accomplished! No question about that
  18. 7 Just way too many chicks around here
  19. Sorry, can't help with that. Don't recall reading that post (if it was here on this site?). I personally wish I had never smoked so I wouldn't have had to quit. Quitting wasn't a pleasant experience in particular for me. Nothing to want to experience again, that's for sure. The plus in that is, it keeps me vigilant in not losing the quit I have been able to build to this point - don't want to travel the quit path again thank you very much!!
  20. You're doing more than I did, if that helps?
  21. 8 Is it just you & me Nancy Early weekend exodus?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
