  1. Quitting smoking can play havoc with your body & mind as you adjust to living without all those deadly chemicals you used to put in there many times a day. Your blood sugar levels is one of them. Keep yourself well hydrated and try drinking fruit juice. The sugar boost might help with that brain-fog. Just remember ladies, any annoying symptom you may experience from quitting will only be temporary but the benefits you will receive will be permanent
  2. -1 OK; this sucks!
  3. By the way, where's a picture of Ellen because there's no one in the photo above who is older than 50
  4. Wow! Is this for real? You & your Mom are quitting? That's awesome!! Welcome Ellen and YES ... both of you CAN do this if you commit yourself to never take another puff - not one ... ever!! There are a few of us here that were 50 year plus smokers so I KNOW it can be done. Take back your freedom like we have - it's the greatest thing you will ever do for yourself. There will be challenges but you can get through those. Read, read & read all you can here on the main quit smoking discussion page - at the top the posts with the green pins to the left of them. There is also a library of videos to educate you about this addiction and how to handle quitting. Great to have you both aboard
  5. No Need for the caboose! Grab hold of our hand and get on board here in First Class. Serious quitters deserve luxurious travel accommodations

  10. Do whatever you need to do for now so that you don't smoke - not even just a little puff! That is job #1 for you Latoya until you get things under control. That first week or so can be a real roller coaster of emotions and anxiety. It's all normal and you just have to tough it out. Things will get better because every battle you fight with the Nicodemon and win makes you stronger and weakens him. It's a very gradual process so you may not even notice it is happening but ..... IT IS! It's the same way for all of us and it will happen for you too providing you don't smoke. No one here is special or different in any way. We all pay our dues but in doing so, we ALL find our freedom from this horrible addiction
  11. Is there room for me too? I'm tired of being a slave to cigarettes!

  19. Stay with us Latoya You will find you are no different than us. We all had to find our way and we all completely understand what you are going through. No one knows about quitting better than a quitter
  20. Distract yourself in what ever way works for you Latoya. For the first few days, I binge watched movies and stayed on here a lot, reading, reading and watching videos about this addiction. It really helped me understand just what smoking is. There's also a games page here that you can navigate around and spend mindless hours just distracting yourself. Learn to embrace the quit process because your body and mind are once again learning how to function like they did before you started smoking. It takes a while but everything does for sure get better as long as you just resist the urge to smoke again - NOPE is the key! Not One Puff Ever

  23. ^^^ Yes - this is true (what MQ said). See the addiction for what it is and know that it does nothing positive for you

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
