  2. OO Not sure about all this. I think we might need an audit of these numbers
  3. Hey L! Great progress so far Runfree's advise is bang on! It's whatever it takes for you personally to get this done. When we quit, we are battling two things at once. The physical addiction to nicotine and the mental reliance on smoking in conjunction with almost everything we do in our lives. They say it takes 3 days to flush the nicotine out of your system once you do go cold turkey. So, if that's the case, why does it take so much longer to feel comfortable as a non smoker? It's the second part. The mental part of quitting. Retraining your mind to function normally again as a beautiful non-smoker Is it easy - no, not for most of us. Can it be done - YES! Absolutely it can be done. We are all proof of that.

  11. 5 Days is GREAT Lotoya Almost your first week done and dusted now. They call that first week Hell Week. I bet you can't imagine why - lol. What you said above is critical, not having even just one or for that matter even one puff. That's the way you need to remain because we all are nicotine addicts and just one leads us back to smoking at the level we did before we quit - always! No one is special in that regard. Pretty much all relapses are because on that belief that we can "just sneak that one". NOPE!
  12. Happy you two are still fighting strong. Stick around and read all you can. Participate here everyday too. It really helps keep you focused on your quit. It's not easy in the beginning but you CAN get through it just like we all did. Distract yourself when you feel a craving to smoke, eat as healthy as you can and keep hydrated. All this discomfort and anxiety you feel at the beginning will not last. The more you fight it and win, the weaker it gets until you hardly even think about smoking anymore and wonder why you ever did it.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
