  1. Good stuff! Nice to start out the New Year on a high note
  2. I think only the "Bosses" can delete an entire post. Us mere mortals would likely abuse that power
  3. NOPE! Great to see so many newbies Noping today
  4. Huge congratulations to you Latoya for reaching this important milestone! It's that 1st month where you have to get up and fight this demon each and every day and now, you've done that successfully You're not done yet of course but what a Great start you have and your body is already thanking you. 6. Welcome to the Lido Deck Pedro. You did it!! You are officially one year quit today. Another January '17 Quitter being welcomed onto the Lido Deck. Way to go Pedro! Take a seat and have a cool drink. You've earned it
  7. Sorry to hear she's gone now. Even tho they can be complete "pricks" when they are with us, there's still a bond there We have a black one who would rather bite you than look at you, And there's not "soft" bites with this one. I have been on drugs more than once due to infections courtesy of Misfit!

  9. I agree with Boo! You are approaching this thing properly with education about the addiction itself and how to beat it! I too went cold turkey and it isn't easy but you get it all over with up front. Just need to retrain your brain to function normally again without smoking being a major part of your daily life. Once you get that done, it;s great and you will be so much better off. No longer a slave to nicotine Look forward to seeing you on the site often. Be sure to post up on the daiy NOPE page. Itls the only way to start your day NOPE stands for Not One Puff Ever by the way. By the way, most of us here were long time smokers too. If we can do it then, you can too!!

  21. That's it Octain!! Distract yourself in whatever ways you can. Do anything but smoke. These urges are strong in the early days but they don't last forever. It is just your addicted brain screaming at you to feed that deadly addiction. You can beat it by being smarter which is exactly what you are by coming up with the distractions you mentioned. Carry on and keep close to the board here. We want you to succeed!

  23. Yes, it does take courage but most of all it takes a solid commitment to yourself to improve your life for YOU! You're doing fine and yes, there will be up and down moments every day for a while. It can be a real struggle in the early days but try to focus on some of the good things you start to enjoy. That might be easier breathing, not stinking of cigarettes, saving $$ because you don't have to buy smokes. There's a ton of good stuff that starts happening. And YES - come here and talk about what you are going through. We are eager to listen and it will help both you and others who are either new quitters or people just lurking and reading your posts to see what it's like to be a new quitter. It's all good even if you don't think you are contributing anything that's all that special. Stay strong Octain! You're on your way

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
