  1. Just wanted to give a shout out to all you newbies who have joined us in the last week or so. We're thrilled to have you with us and we're cheering you on 100%! We know the struggle to readjust as a non-smoker and we also know that that struggle is only temporary and that the benefits are forever! Keep climbing that rope!!

  7. Proud of all you Newbies! Yes, there will be challenges even after your body is clean of nicotine but that's because you need time to rewire your brain to live your normal daily life without smoking being attached to everything you do pretty much. That just takes time and patience on your part. We all go through it and providing we keep to the NOPE pledge we make every day, we all come out being very happy (and healthy) to be non-smokers for life
  8. I love how you are focused on the positives you are realizing after quitting rather than dwelling on the challenges you face in the early quit. Makes the whole process that much easier and more rewarding sooner. Doing GREAT Octain

  16. I get a real kick out of posts like this where new quitters are in awe of people with 2 or 3 months quit and those with 2 or 3 months quit can't imagine having a whole year quit. It seems like yesterday, that was me. Completely gob-smacked by people with a couple months quit. I could not even relate to people with a year or more quit back then. What the hell could they know about what I was going through. They were long safe in their new non-smoking lives and well .... I was certainly different from them. Now I'm almost a year quit myself and looking back at those who came after me admiring their courage, knowing their daily struggle. It is the same as I had every day not that long ago. I almost miss those daily battles with the addiction that enslaved me for so many years. I now know that all those things the "elders" told me back when I was a few days or weeks quit was absolutely true. A strong personal commitment, education about this addiction, support from your peers here and a daily pledge of NOPE is all any of us needs to make it to freedom. Truly an amazing journey
  17. -1 Hey, hey now!!

  19. Love to see this .... Newbies helping Newbies by relating their own quit experiences. This is the way to uplift and support each other during the more challenging days of your quit. You guys & gals who are in the early days are the true heroes of this, or any other, quitting site! You are the ones doing the heavy lifting every day but, yes, stop each day and realize the benefits you are starting to see. Positive thoughts go a long way in these early days.
  20. +1
  21. Yes Latoya - break open that purse where you used to keep your money for smokes and spend a little on something nice for yourself. Maybe a nice relaxing massage?
  22. 7 lol
  23. 5 Sure did
  24. Keep it rockin' and stay close to the board too. You know the drill. You'll soon be a month because the next 2 weeks will seem to go past faster

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
