  2. Our resident doggie Chrispy is going to be 5 Years Quit this Saturday Jan. 6, 2018! Put on your dancing shoes and lift a glass or two - time to PARTY!!
  3. Actually, they got snow flurries in Tallahssee Florida today so even they are not off the hook with this one (I'm sure Miami is safe though).
  4. Hi Edie Welcome to our family. I too ended up quitting cold turkey. My quit wasn't very well planned but it has so far worked out well for me. I can't say it was easy but it is certainly doable and we here are all the proof of that. Education about the addiction, an unwavering commitment to yourself and determination will all be key components as well as support from like-minded people (that's us) As Doreen said, stay active here, it really does help! You idea of telling others you have quit is great as it does help to keep you committed but in the end, you're doing this for YOU. And it's the best gift you could give yourself Look forward to seeing you around.

  17. I think what Jules said is probably the overwhelming feeling you would be left with. Crushing disappointment! I have never heard of a person relapsing and happy about it after the fact. Whether there is or isn't some momentary "pleasure" or dizziness in conjunction with that first drag is secondary to the sudden realization of what you have just done. Killed your quit and now have to start all over again I also think anyone who would do that never really quit smoking. They can abstain for long periods of time but eventually the lure of the cigarette reels them back into active addiction again. They never really understood and believed that this addiction does nothing good for you and only does harm because once you DO get that part of it, it's easy to turn your back on smoking for good.

  19. Huge congratulations Jackie for reaching this incredible milestone! You should be really proud of this accomplishment. I know you are getting ready to welcome your first child so haven't been around the forum much lately but wanted to give you a shout out to say how proud we all are of you for achieving what you committed yourself to What a wonderful gift to give both yourself and your family! Welcome to the Lido Deck Girl

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
