    Day 2

That's it. 1 Day at a time. It does get easier down the road a little although you hardly know it's happening because the transition is very slow. And yes, smoking is not an option because .... you're a Non-Smoker now Don't sweat the quit symptoms too much. They will ALL smooth out soon enough. Keep your focus on the BIG prize!
  9. I agree, those early milestones are THE BEST!! Celebrate them and feel proud. It's a BIG DEAL!!! http://
  10. ^^^ Yeah - April seems sooooo far away at the moment :(
  11. Good to see you back on the train Make 2018 - completely smoke-free!!
  12. ^^ Good stuff Edie Stick with the NOPE! It will pay off big time.

  15. Hope those on the Eastern seaboard of both the US & Canada fair OK today. Big old nasty-ass storm going to cause a lot of power outages and other mayhem They're calling it a "Bomb-Cyclone"! Never heard that terminology before. High winds and lots of snow - nasty combination. Stay safe!! Glad I only have the cold to deal with where I am. They're forecasting -37 as the low tonight. Sure glad I'm not sleeping on the streets!!
  16. A disrupted sleep pattern is pretty normal in the early days, as are a lot of other quit symptoms, but it won't last long. At least it didn't for me
  17. Wow There must be someone in the medical community that has knowledge/experience in this area. Are you associated with any other groups or associations that you could reach out to for referrals or information? Wish I could offer more helpful info.
  18. I'm calling Bakon and his squad. Seems there may have been some criminality involved in this recent "win"? OO
  19. That's a good think Christine Many of us struggle with a number of quit symptoms early on in our quit. It seems every quit is different in terms of what one experiences. The good news for all of us is that those symptoms do not last all that long and the benefits of quitting are many and last forever. When did you quit and are you using any NRT products or prescription aids in quitting or going cold turkey? I'm just curious.
  20. Welcome to Quit Train Christine Sorry, can't help you with your question and hope someone else might be able to give you some insight. I'm a little surprised your therapist can't give you some direction on this as smoking and therefore quitting is a pretty common thing,
  21. ^^^ Good stuff JKPK Stick with the NOPE!

  23. Our resident doggie Chrispy is going to be 5 Years Quit this Saturday Jan. 6, 2018! Put on your dancing shoes and lift a glass or two - time to PARTY!!
  24. Actually, they got snow flurries in Tallahssee Florida today so even they are not off the hook with this one (I'm sure Miami is safe though).
  25. Hi Edie Welcome to our family. I too ended up quitting cold turkey. My quit wasn't very well planned but it has so far worked out well for me. I can't say it was easy but it is certainly doable and we here are all the proof of that. Education about the addiction, an unwavering commitment to yourself and determination will all be key components as well as support from like-minded people (that's us) As Doreen said, stay active here, it really does help! You idea of telling others you have quit is great as it does help to keep you committed but in the end, you're doing this for YOU. And it's the best gift you could give yourself Look forward to seeing you around.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
