  1. Smoking is all about personal choices and you are making the right one now for yourself Keep making that choice every day and pretty soon, as Sazerac said, that desire to smoke will fade to oblivion and you will know then that anything is possible for you.

  4. Hello & welcome Wren! As others have already said, the three month mark can be a challenging point for some. The good thing is that by then we already have built a toolbox of quitting skills to help us confront these challenges. And of course, these times don't last long. Just stay strong and do what you've been doing and you'll be fine.
  5. Must admit, I had no plan. Just took it a day at a time and refused to give in to the cravings to smoke because I knew if I did, I would be forever a smoker and I didn't want that!! Once things smoothed out I just dealt with the mild cravings or thoughts about smoking in the same manner - just ignored them until my mind focused on something else. Still works that way only the thoughts of smoking are fewer and further between and milder than they once were. Hardly a bother at this point - more of just an annoyance. Like, OMG, you're still here and trying to suggest I smoke again - LOL!!

  16. I can't imagine that quitting Heroin is easier than quitting smoking. Same as you said, I never did any thrashing around or puking my guts out or hallucinating when I quit smoking. That's just bizarre!!
  17. OK so what's the proper order of things? I NEED: - More Money - Caffeine - Nicotine - Sex
  18. I know ................ I got that moment on film
  19. There's usually someone here posting. We have the world time zones pretty much covered - Also, we do have a "Pre-respond To Your Own SOS Thread here on the SOS page. Go have a look and you'll see that many have posted a message to themselves that they can access and read at any moment. That just may be enough to make you think twice about lighting up a smoke or going to buy some. Give it a try. It doesn't cost you anything but a few minutes of your time
  20. We are here .............
  21. Hello and welcome Rasdaan Yes, we can help guide you through this quitting process but to be very clear, only YOU can actually do the quitting. Personal commitment and education about this addiction are key to beating it! You have that advantage of only having smoked for a few years but, you are still a nicotine addict just like all of us. Cutting down is not an option. You need to quit all together and Never Take Another Puff. We call this the NOPE pledge which we do every day on the NOPE pledge page. NOPE stands for Not One Puff Ever!! That is the key to beating back your addiction. You can never take another puff. Read all you can here and watch the Videos by Joel. They will help you understand what this addiction is all about. Stick close to this board too and post as much as you can. It really helps. Not only helps you but helps others too. Looking forward to following your quit journey

  24. ^^^ Drink did not affect me negatively either so, you're not alone. This was my first quit attempt too so, yes - it can happen if it is important enough to you to never smoke again And yes; mine to was spur of the moment - no advance planning. Anything is possible if you just stay committed!!
