  4. My mother used to make strawberry preserves too but she's just too old now to do that stuff but oh man!! Yummy!!!! I miss getting a couple of jars of her stuff each year. Nothing like home made preserves And, where are you that Strawberry season is upon you? There's nothing growing here for another 4 months.

  6. ^^^ My wife was afraid to swim anywhere but an enclosed pool for probably 20 years after she saw Jaws. Even in freshwater lakes I finally got her to start going back in the ocean when we started going on vacations down south, which is basically where the sharks live isn't it?

  15. Proud to say I successfully made it from my bed to the coffee pot this morning. Probably 100 feet or more and involves the descent of multiple stairs. I didn't fall even once and did not need to stop and rest along the way. Although, I ALMOST tripped over the damn cat! Normally, I'd just have the wife get me a coffee but today .... I did it myself The stuff you people talk about doing would have me in the hospital on life support
  16. Hi Canadian Tammy! Welcome to our family of lovely non-smokers Congrats on being 37 days quit. Please post something up on the Introductions" Page so everyone here will see your post and welcome you to the Train. This community is a great place to learn all about the addiction that we all share AND for the support that only other "quitters" can provide for each other. Look forward to getting to know you

  24. Hello and Welcome Bignon! Congratulations on deciding to take back your life and be free from this addiction! As others have already mentioned, there is 1 simple rule to being successful at this - just N.O.P.E. each day. Take things 1 day at a time or even 1 hour at a time in these early days and you will soon be free and looking back wondering why you didn't do it sooner. Read all you can on this board about this addiction, what it really is and how it will try and lure you back. Education about this horrible addiction and the support you will get here from other NON - SMOKERS will be a huge help. Also, participate here all you can. That will help you stay focused on the task at hand. Look forward to seeing you around

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
