  1. Sweet, Sweet, Smoke Free Friday!! NOPE! I don't smoke anymore
  2. I tried vaping for a few days while I was a smoker and actually found it WAY harsher on my throat than smoking cigarettes so gave it up right away and just continued to smoke cigarettes. Don't really know if it's safer than smoking cigs or not but my sense of it is that people are eager to try anything that will allow them to continue to feed their nicotine addiction in a "safer" manner?

  4. Youngins - lol.
  5. +1 Yes but .... it may be illegal
  6. There are a whole bunch of things you will find are disgusting about smoking that you used to think were perfectly normal because you chose to smoke. As you start to discover them all and reflect on the fact the you not longer have them attached to your person, you will become even more committed to your quit. Being a smoker is really such slavery. That is the most important benefit that I have identified since being quit. I am no longer scheduling my life around smoking activities My life is no bed of roses to be sure but at least I don't have to worry about all that smoking sh*t
  7. Sticks all step away for a good wank and .... look what happens PLUS 1

  16. There's no easy way to quit smoking. People have tried it all and at some point or other you just need to STOP smoking everything. It's not even just the nicotine issue. The whole mechanical process involved with vaping is so similar to smoking cigarettes that even with zero nicotine in your vaping pen or whatever, you are still reinforcing the smoking motions in your brain every time you pick up that pen to pacify yourself. Sooner or later, you will pick up a cigarette instead of that zero milligram vape pen and within hours or days you'll be back to a pack a day - I guarantee it!!
  17. So sorry to hear this BTR! Everything you said is so true about falsely believing you can "trick" the addiction. The addiction is really "tricking" YOU! I can understand you are devastated and very disappointed in what has happened but USE this experience as a lesson to be applied toward your permanent quit! We are all addicts BTR, all of us. No one is special. No one can play in both worlds and get away with it. That's what the very simple pledge of NOPE is all about. Not One Puff Ever. Because for all of us, one puff leads to one cigarette and one cigarette leads to a pack a day or worse. It's the same for all of us! No special snowflakes in this addiction. Now, jump right back on this train and do it right this time! NOPE every day. Come here and post as much as you can. Seek advice. Read all you can. Vent, ask questions or just ramble on about your day. It will help keep you focused. Come on now .... give me your hand!

  19. The yungin's will have no clue about the egg thing. Why shit! Took me longer to figure that out than it did to quit smoking
  20. Don't forget folks, we are addicts and as such, you will always be tied mentally to that addiction so it will never be like it didn't ever happen but once you have adjusted every aspect of your lifestyle to functioning as a non-smoker, you will be very comfortable with the whole thing and any thoughts you might have of smoking at that point will be just that; thoughts and memories of a past lifestyle. Personally, I'm glad of the occasional reminders. It reminds me that I am a nicotine addict and I know from everything I have learned here about this addiction that if I have "just 1", I will become a full time smoker again and I've worked too hard to ever want to go back there

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
