  1. The others have given you a lot of great info. to work with lml And, you are right. Those 1st times doing things without smoking are when we are challenged. They say the seasonal changes are the same way. We tend to do different things in different seasons so it can take up to a full year to have met all those challenges head on. Of course, things do get progressively easier as you move forward but there are still new situations right throughout that 1st year.
  2. This addiction is very powerful in ways we just don't expect DV. It will attack us at moments we don;t expect because it figures our guard is down or we just are tired of fighting. These are the times we must rally all of our commitment and fight that son-of-a-bitch!! My guess is these are the last dying, full scale attacks your addiction is rallying against you. It knows you are winning and it won't go away easily. You fight through these days and you will see how much better it gets and how much easier this becomes a little further down the line. It happens that way for ALL of us - it will for YOU too DV; you'll see

  17. There are two separate parts to quitting. The physical addiction to nicotine then there's the mental part of quitting. That is the hardest part I think and it takes the longest to overcome. Just think about how much of your life each and every day revolved around smoking. It's incredible when you think of it. That that's a long time to reverse to the point where you are comfortable with not turning to smokes all the time. The only way to get there is to go through the entire quitting process. Stay active here because it will help not only you but others as well. You are almost at week 2 - congrats!! Sorry, I didn't use patches so I can't help you there. Well, I did for 2 days then just went off them altogether. It worked for me but everyone is different.

  22. I'm not surprised. All those chemicals we sucked into our lungs for years & years! At least we here have stopped the continuing damage. There are thousands; no, millions of others out there who continue to suck that deadly crap into their lungs. Be proud that YOU are not one of them

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
