  1. Wow Latoya! You are 1/4 of a year smoke free already!! How's that feel? You are doing great. Committed to the goal of quitting since day 1. Be sure to celebrate this big day and treat yourself to something really nice with all that $$ you've saved
  2. Have a great day CL!!
  3. Amazing that you could build and keep your quit with all that going on around you at the same time stzr500. You sure set a great example for your daughter. I hope she shows the same dogged determination as you did in wrestling her own addiction to the ground. Take pride in what you have done and enjoy the benefits of your smoke free life to the max!

  10. Welcome Gordo! Congrats on making the decision to quit. You won't regret it. You have already had great advise from those good people before me so I would just echo what they have already said. It does get better but it happens slowly. You won't notice it one day to the next but it is happening as your body and brain adjust. I didn't have the digestion issues but I did have pretty bad "brain fog" for most of the 1st month. The good news is, it all clears up eventually. Just stay the course Gordo!
  11. Hi and welcome Hanoversquared. As a seasoned quitter I'm sure you'll be a great asset to the newbies here. Make yourself at home. You'll find your way around pretty quickly. Nice handle, by the way
  12. Look at you MD! You're sporting double digits now at 10 months quit!! Fabulous work. Be sure to reward yourself. Maybe some new cruise wear for your grand entrance to the Lido Deck that's only 2 months away?
  13. Congrats Berk! 2 Months smoke free already and still going. You're really building a great quit there and I bet you're realizing a lot of the quit benefits by now. Celebrate the milestone then keep pushing forward. Doing great
  14. I went for a massage today but fell asleep right away!
  15. Yes Kate! You're doing great! It's very early on in your quit and the quit symptoms are often overwhelming at times. That coupled with the normal day to day sh*t life throws at us tests our resolve - no question about it but, smoking wouldn't help. You know that if you really think about it. Having one now would just destroy all the hard work you have put in so far. You would feel terrible about that after the first puff. That would only add to your problems. Be proud of how far you have come because it's no piece of cake this quitting. All that other stuff going on in your life will happen anyway. This quitting thing ........ you and you alone control. Be proud that you have made all the right choices this past week
  16. Lots of support from newbies here Steve. People more or less in the same position as you. They have very recently gone through what you are going through right now. They speak from recent experience when they tell you it will get better. Keep fighting Steve. Only better days ahead.
  17. Sorry to hear times are tough at the moment Jo Do what ya feel you have to do but I agree with what other's have said that it's good to just have a place to go where you know you'll be accepted as you are and especially in difficult days. Hold on to that quit for dear life, now more than ever. That's one shining star in your dark sky at the moment. Keep it and protect it with your life You'll be OK. Things change. They always do.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
