  1. May I just add that finding a support group like this is a huge advantage too. I do not like or am I apart of any social media crap on the internet which is why I was surprised at how helpful it was to join a "quit smoking" support group. I was literally shocked at what an important part if played in my own quit. That's if you participate regularly in it. Even if that's just posting a NOPE every day. The more you give ...... the more you receive back it seems. It won't make you quit but if you are truly committed to quitting, interacting with other serious quitters is really helpful!!

  3. I'm just saying that for me it was at about 5 1/2 - 6 months when I KNEW I was good to go for a permanent quit!! It's different for everyone but there does come a time for all of us longer term quitters when something happens and you just stand back and realize .... I've actually got this thing beat!! Keep with the program ..... it WILL happen for you too

  5. OK - understand better now - just don't fukcin smoke ..........OK??
  6. I agree with Whispers .... choose your priority and be all in to fight it. I'm sure coffee isn't good for you but is it worse than all the deadly chemicals in cigarettes?? I'm pretty sure it isn't. I would choose to make my stand against ciggies - not caffeine!

  22. You're right to stay focused on just the here & now rather than looking too far ahead in terms of the challenges but I think what Jillar was saying is that you know from having gone through this before that the quitting thing is actually a much longer process than just the first few weeks when things are VERY dramatic in terms of what you are experiencing. That said, you may be through the physical flushing of nicotine from your body, which is good but, the mental adjustment is what really takes a long time. And yes, just focus on the here and now for that mental reconditioning is what I would recommend. The issues you face will change anyway as you progress. Dealing with them as they come along works fine. In the end, as you know, it really is all about the long term NOPE commitment. That's what will lead you to a successful long term quit Keep noping & keep posting!
  23. That's right Kate - an hour at a time or even a minute at a time early on. That's the way to do it

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
