  10. ^^^ Me & Jillar, having a snuggle ?
  11. You have just described one of my favorite benefits of being a non-smoker. Freedom to do what you want for as long as you want without having to "service" your addiction master - nicotine. Whether it be the art museum, a family gathering or a night out with friends, you no longer have to sneak away early to have that cigarette. Now, that's freedom!
  12. Good for you that you were able to deal with one coming out of nowhere like that. Those can be tough because they are unexpected and your guard may be down or it happens at a particularly weak moment. At least your mind didn't totally cave into the urge and was still thinking about the consequences of lighting one up. Perhaps he didn't smoke one himself because often people will get annoyed in a setting like that where they are sitting at the next table and someone lights up a smoke. Part of the new shaming aspect of being "one of those people".
  13. Wow! 9 months smoke free is Fabulous Grund!! You smashed yet another month Keep going.

  15. Probably the best eating fish in the world (at least in my opinion), the Brook Trout (small speckle trout). You get 5 or 6 of these and you have a meal to remember. They will melt in your mouth They may look small but they fight like fish 4 or 5 times their size!
  16. Lawns go from white to green in about 2 weeks here - lol. Then they burn out and go brown in late June ?
  17. ^^^ I've actually heard of ling I thought the looked like a big catfish? Maybe not!
  18. My lawn actually looks better than that Pig's lawn ?
  19. So, now that I have your attention (maybe); I just wanted to tell you that today I had to mow my lawn now that the snow has stopped and the rains have started. So, what's the big deal? Last year when this happened, I felt really uncomfortable after I had finished this chore. Looking back 2 years, I would have finished mowing then gone into the house to grab a cold one, head out to the back deck and wet my whistle while lighting up a cigarette and admiring the great job I had done. Rewards!! Season has changed and now I'm doing different chores. No one is paying me to do this stuff so what's the reward? Well, it's a cold beer and a cigarette. Or, at least it was 2 years ago and before then too Last year - my first year not smoking; this was a bit uncomfortable. I had my cold beer on the deck but I didn't have my trusty cigarette. I remember I couldn't even sit there on my deck last year. I had to walk around and distract myself in what ever manner I could. It felt pretty unsettling I must admit but I had to make myself get through it. So here's the good news! This year, NO PROBLEM!! Not even a thought about smoking a cigarette after mowing the lawn. So you see, if you just keep true to your self commitment of never taking another puff and get past that full year smoke-free, then you will end up where I am. Comfortable with not smoking with those seasonal changes The rewards are there waiting for you. All you have to do is take smoking off the table and kick it the hell out of you life for good!!
  20. 12 ?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
