  1. Yes Tammy. What you're experiencing is totally normal and to be expected. I remember having like a fogginess in my brain for a while in the early part of my quit. It is all temporary and you will emerge from your quit cocoon as a beautiful, smoke-free butterfly ready to live the rest of your life in good health and with more $$ in your wallet Keep going girl!!

  6. The thing that concerns me about these unusual "hot spells" is that when a cold front comes through, BAMB! super storms with flooding rains and damaging winds - even tornadoes ?
  7. Under the category of, is it a Pig or .... a bunny?
  8. Stewie!!! Haven't seen your "original" name in a long time Just for that, I will join you in today's Nope!
  9. Wow - welcome back Thought we had lost you a while ago when you stopped posting. Happy to see you're still rocking your quit Kev!
  10. Canada Day is kind of strange here as there's no real protocol to follow. It's just looked at as another long summer weekend which are a prized commodity here due to weather issues most other times of the year. Most just get laid back and relax or maybe do a BBQ. There are fireworks but it's way more prevalent these days then when I was a kid. It's not like in the USA that's for sure. Years ago fireworks were reserved for only Victoria Day which is a celebration of Queen Victoria's BD in late May. See, we do still care about your Brits ?
  11. Those stripy Jellies wouldn't be Jello shooters now would they?
  12. So, I spoke to the Lido Deck food and beverage manager (Chef Pierre) and he told me that he's got no idea what a "lolly bag" or "honey joy" is, let alone chocolate crackles or fairy bread so I'm guessing you are SOL regardless of the timing issue
  13. All special menu requests for Lido Deck celebrations MUST be submitted at least 6 months in advance of the party date or traditional fare will be served; NO exceptions!! (Guess what traditional fare is Jo?)

  20. Nice job tocevoD! 6 months is fabulous and something to be very proud of. Now go celebrate your wonderful achievement and know that you are 1/2 way to that target we all set for ourselves when we quit - the 1 Year Lido Deck celebration! Congrats!!

  24. Temp got to 37 C today with a humidex of 47 C (Humidity factored with temp). That's a record for sure! No relief in sight either. I can guarantee you, someone will leave their pet or young child in a car with windows up sometime in the next week ? Happens every time it gets hot here. People are either stupid or just don't understand hot weather, glass and a confined space?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
